Green Thumbs and Happy Hearts at Broomhills!🌻🌱
Our garden was full of life and laughter this morning during our latest Gardening Club session🪴
We were so grateful to welcome Pam’s daughter, Sonya, and her husband, Jim, who kindly came along to lend their support and expertise. A few of our wonderful residents joined in the fun, with Mick and Maureen particularly delighted to get their hands dirty and help us out. In fact, Mick officially agreed to step up as one of our ‘Chief Waterers’ for the garden!🐝
Sonya gave us a brilliant tour of everything we can grow, explaining the unique care needed for various flowers, plants, and fragrant herbs - And we’re also going to plant potatoes that should be ready just in time for Christmas dinner!
When the topic turned to cooking with fresh herbs, Mick admitted he doesn't spend much time in the kitchen, but the group quickly rallied around him, insisting it’s never too late to try something new!🥕🥬🍅
As we packed away our trowels and admired our efforts, Maureen summed up the day perfectly: 'It’s been a good morning’s work!'
