Wow Look at all those Hop flowers !!!
I started harvesting them today. Some have gone in the Herb Drier for Hop pillows mixed with Lavender and Mugwort these will make the perfect sleep aids.. Still lots to harvest but bought some hope to decorate the kitchen too..
Hops not only used in Beer making, but have sleep inducing compounds too. Helping with insomnia.
Also can be made into a Tincture which can help with Hot flushes if you are Menopausal.
And my favourite way to have herbs is in a tea, and its Anti inflammatory properties can help with digestive problems..

A bit of a tidy out the front of the house today, and Harvested some Bay as it has grown really well.
I love to put Bay in my cooking for soups and Stews it adds a warm aromatic scent and flavour.
But did you know Bay (Laurus nobilis) is considered a protection plant and protects the home from Evil spirits and Negative Witchcraft, lucky mines planted by the front door.
Also if you sleep with it under your pillow it’s thought to bring prophetic dreams and if you would like to make a wish or manifest something write your intention on the leaf and burn it in a fire.. 🔥 🌿💚

The weather was soggy today and I got cold (first time in months) being outside. So dinner had to be comforting. So Veggie Lasagna it was!!
Easy you think.. 🤔
No! I’m gluten free and don’t react well to full dairy. 🙄
So Organic veggies from where I volunteer, Courgette, Patty Pan, Tomatoes and Aubergine. Mushrooms from shop.. M&S Food Gluten free Lasagna sheets, handy as don’t have to pre cook and own made Bechamel sauce. Butter, Gluten free plain flour made into roux and Almond milk added and whisked over low heat to thicken with a dash of Nutmeg too.
Herbs to flavour the veg and tomato sauce were Bay, Rosemary, Thyme and Winter savoury. All picked from herb garden.. it was a lot of Faff but delicious, There’s even enough for lunch tomorrow.. 💚

Today was a bit Soggy so I spent it sorting out the dried flowers in the Herb shed.. but loved listening to to Rain outside and this Rose is flowering again..

After a Little Rain the Agastache (Agastache feoniculum) is looking good again it struggled in the heat. It’s also known as Anise hyssop, Giant Hyssop and is a member of the Lamiaceae (Mint family)
It attracts pollinators and its benefits are it is an anti inflammatory herb, and can also help sooth a cough. A herbal tea can relieve fever and can help calm and promote sleep. Native tribes would make a poultice from leaves to sooth burns. The flowers smell amazing and look great on the herb garden too..
