We were dancing like nobody was watching at our beach party. 🌞🎤

A huge thank you to Alan Turner and his mum singing us all our favourite songs. The lounge was full of smiles and laughter as everyone joined in dancing and singing along. Peter surprised us all when he got up dance, something he doesn't do very often.

It was a delight to share this moment with Peter, and all of our lovely residents.

The smiles said it all on Friday when Russell came in for a singalong and dance. 💃

He played the songs our residents grew up with and within minutes everyone was joining in. We watched faces light up across the room as old tunes brought back happy memories of times gone by.

Friday fun really is the best kind of fun.

Nothing beats the sound of an ice-cream van, even when it's our own jolly trolley making the music. We treated residents to strawberry and chocolate milkshakes today, finished off with ice-cream and cream.

Cowboy hats on and boots tapping, that's how we spent our afternoon with April today. 🤠🎉

Everyone joined in singing and dancing, some on their feet and others line dancing from their chairs. The laughter said it all, smiles everywhere and everyone chatting away about their favourite songs afterwards.

Days like this remind us how much joy a bit of music and good company can bring.

"Bingo!" rang out from every corner of the room this afternoon. 🎉 Maureen won the very first line, then Howard, Tina, Jackie, Pat, Doreen, Anne and Nelly each followed!

The full house had us stumped for a while. All 90 numbers were out and nobody had shouted, so we called out the last few numbers our residents needed and the room went wild.

Eight winners in the end and everyone left with a smile!

We had a cracking time at Clifton Park with our gents and their crazy golf challenge! ⛳

They showed us all what real teamwork looks like and watching them celebrate each other's wins was as good as any hole-in-one. That's what community looks like here at The Abbeys.

🧶 Who remembers making pom-poms as a child? ✨

Our residents spent the morning creating colourful pom-poms and sharing memories of making them years ago. The only thing they said had changed was the cardboard!

Everyone was amazed that they still remembered exactly how to make them after all this time. It's wonderful how a simple activity like this can bring back so many wonderful stories.

Our residents spent the day in Cleethorpes, starting with a walk around the boating lake and watching the families out on the paddle boats. 🏖️

A picnic and ice creams followed, then a leisurely stroll along the sea front chatting about summers gone by. It was a lovely way to spend the day together.

Thank you to our wonderful minibus driver Lee for driving us there and home again safely.
