🛒 Next time you're shopping, head to the fruit and veg aisle and count items together as you put them into the bag:

👉 "1 apple, 2 apples, 3 apples in the bag!"
👉 "Can you find 4 bananas?"
👉 "Which pile has more oranges?"

Using number words during everyday activities helps children develop their counting skills, mathematical vocabulary, and confidence with numbers. Plus, it's a fun way to learn together! 😊

Getting dressed isn't just part of the daily routine—it's a fantastic opportunity to build your child's language skills! 👕👖🧦

For your younger Tiny Talkers 💕, try naming the clothes as you help them get dressed:

👕 "Here's your t-shirt." 🧦 "Let's put on your socks." 👟 "Time for your shoes!"

For your older Tiny Talkers 🌟, explore more detailed vocabulary and descriptions:

🔍 Talk about sleeves, cuffs, buttons, zips and pockets 🎨 Describe colours, patterns and textures ⭐ Compare clothes: "Which jumper has the biggest buttons?" or "Can you find the striped socks?"

As you chat together, pause and give your child time to respond. Every conversation helps build their vocabulary, confidence and communication skills. 🥰💬

💡 Top Tip: Follow your child's interests and let them make choices when possible. Asking questions like "Which socks would you like today?" encourages even more talking!

The outdoors is full of lots of brilliant inspiration for storytelling!

Lie down or sit and look up at the sky. Chat about what shapes the clouds make. Maybe you can see a dragon, or a bus.

Try to make up a story about what you can see together. Remember, stories can be about anything. They can be short, and about something that really happened, or they can be never-ending nonsense!
