Everyone meet Barney!
Barney is a loyal and loving boy who adores his home comforts. He’s a bundle of energy for half the day — zooming around and keeping everyone entertained — and spends the other half flat on his back, snoring away without a care in the world. His favourite toys are a plush donut and a squeaky Mutella jar, and he always brings one of them to you as a gift when he arrives — his own special way of saying hello. Whether he’s curled up in his favourite spot or proudly presenting his toy, Barney’s charm and affection are impossible to resist.

Scotland, you’ve been amazing! 💙

Hundreds of miles travelled, countless conversations had, and so many signatures added to our charity signature card along the way.

Thank you to everyone who welcomed us, supported the Sheffmed Charity Signature Drive, and helped make this trip such a success.

The journey continues, but we’re leaving incredibly grateful for all the support we’ve received. 🖊️💙

We are proud to share a meaningful step forward on our six-acre site in North Yorkshire.

During April, we commissioned the planting of 300 trees across the site, including a mix of species such as beech and willow. Watching these bare root saplings being carefully planted marked the start of something we know will grow into a thriving, biodiverse landscape. We are genuinely excited to see them establish and burst into life over the coming weeks and months.
What makes this project particularly important to us is that it goes far beyond simple offsets or box ticking. This is about delivering real, tangible value to the environment and to the wider community. It reflects a long-term commitment to doing things properly and creating a space that supports nature as well as people.
One of the aspects we are especially proud of is the social impact already taking shape. Half of all food produced on the site has been donated to local food banks, helping to support communities through the ongoing cost of living crisis.

We look forward to continuing and expanding this contribution in the months ahead. We will be sharing more updates and images as the site develops, and we are excited to bring you along on the journey.

At Sheffmed, sustainability is already a key part of how we operate, with active steps being taken to decarbonise and reduce our Environmental Impact. Partnering with this project is a natural extension of that journey, moving beyond reduction and into creating positive, lasting change.
We’re really excited to be supporting a project in North Yorkshire that is doing something genuinely different. Transforming six acres of scrubland into a fully off grid, fossil fuel free permaculture and agroforestry site, it is restoring nature while producing food in a way that gives back.
What really stood out to us is the community impact. Half of everything grown will be donated to local food banks, supporting people while also improving biodiversity across the landscape.
We’ll be receiving monthly updates as the project develops, giving us the opportunity to see real, measurable impact over time. For us, this is exactly what sustainability should look like. Not just reducing harm, but actively contributing something positive.
We’re proud to be part of this and look forward to getting onsite in the coming months and getting our hands dirty.
