⚽🏃 Is heel pain stopping your child from enjoying their sport?
Heel pain is common in active, growing children — particularly those involved in football, running, gymnastics, dance and other high-impact sports.
One common cause is Sever’s disease, an irritation around the growth plate at the back of the heel that can become painful during periods of rapid growth and increased activity.
The good news is that physiotherapy can help. 🙌
A physiotherapist can assess what may be contributing to your child’s heel pain and provide an individual treatment plan. This may include:
✅ Advice on managing training and activity
✅ Exercises to improve strength and flexibility
✅ Guidance on footwear and returning to sport
✅ Strategies to reduce pain and prevent repeated flare-ups
Children don’t necessarily have to simply “put up with” heel pain while they’re growing.
If your child is complaining of sore heels during or after sport, book a physiotherapy assessment and help them get back to doing what they love. 💙
