We are pleased to announce that we can now offer Shockwave therapy at Rothwell Physiotherapy

Shockwave therapy, or extracorporeal shockwave therapy (ESWT), is a non-invasive treatment that uses high-energy sound waves to stimulate healing in damaged tissues

This type of therapy can help conditions such as
Planter fasciitis (including heel spur),
Calcific tendonitis of shoulder,
Tennis elbow (lateral epicondylitis),
Golfers elbow (medial epicondylitis),
Patellar tendonitis,
Refractory proximal hamstring tendinopathy,
Achilles tendonitis and
Refractory greater trochanteric pain syndrome

A course of treatment typically involves 4 to 6 sessions, with about a week between each session.
The duration and number of sessions needed depend on the condition being treated and progress made.

You will need to check with your Health Insurance Company if they will cover this treatment before you attend a treatment session,
However if you are Self-funding we can book you straight in for Assessment and treatment.

Shockwave treatment is £50 per session

Update 22/08/2025 - Tickets were contested, however the appeal was rejected and it was emphasised that during the times specified the restrictions apply right up to the buildings, so there is no parking allowed on the path at those times.

If you are coming to the practice any time soon please note new parking restrictions which are in place on Tresham Street.
A Yellow line on the road indicates No Parking at the times specified, which are Mon - Fri 8.00 - 9.30am and 3.00 to 4.30pm
TICKETS WERE ISSUED YESTERDAY by the parking warden and he advised that the yellow line rule applies all the way across the path to the buildings.

Please be aware that the fair is now in town until Saturday night 1st June.
Setting up Thursday 23rd and Friday 24th May so please allow yourself extra time to get though the town and park.
We have no evening sessions on during fair week as the surrounding roads close for everyone's safety while the fair is running in the evenings.
