Everything you've wanted to ask about plantar fasciitis -> answered. 🦶

We get these questions every week at the clinic, so we've put the honest answers in one place: how long it takes to heal, whether shockwave hurts, how many sessions you'll need, and whether you can keep exercising (yes… within reason 😉).

The big one people are always surprised by: you don't need a GP referral to see an osteopath. You can book directly.

Save this for later 📌 and if that heel pain has outstayed its welcome, book a free 15-minute consultation.

Most people book the wrong massage, then wonder why the knot comes back by Wednesday.

Sports, deep tissue, full body. They're not interchangeable. Each one solves a different problem, and the booking page never tells you which is which.

So we made the guide we wish everyone read before booking.

Swipe for the 10-second decision guide. Slide 7 does the heavy lifting.

And if you're still not sure, that's fine. It's literally what our free 15-minute consultations are for. Tell us what's going on, we'll tell you what we'd book.

Save this for the next time your shoulders end up by your ears. Link in bio to book.

Please help us give a very warm welcome to the newest member of the AG Osteopathy family, Sam Wright, Osteopath (M.Ost). 🎉

With six years in practice and experience across busy London clinics, Sam brings a genuinely patient-centred approach: calm, thorough and always tailored to you.

She’s a structural osteopath with a real passion for getting people moving, whether that’s easing a stubborn shoulder, tackling headaches and back pain, or helping you recover from a sports injury.

When she’s not in clinic, you’ll find her playing county cricket, on the padel court, training for the London Marathon, or at home with her two cats.

Sam joins us in Tunbridge Wells on Tuesdays & Thursdays from August 2026, and is now taking bookings for osteopathy and shockwave therapy.

👉 Tap the link in our bio or below to book in with Sam and get £20 off new patient appointments with her in the month of August.

Heel pain that's worst first thing in the morning?

That's the classic sign of plantar fasciitis and it's one of the most common (and most frustrating) foot complaints we see in Tunbridge Wells 🦶

The reason it drags on for months?

The tissue heals slowly, and you load it every day just by walking. Rest and stretching help early on, but stubborn cases need more.

That's where shockwave therapy comes in!

A treatment that kick-starts healing in tissue that struggles to repair on its own.
Paired with hands-on treatment and the right exercises, it gets you back on your feet properly.

Swipe through for the full picture and if this sounds like you, book a free 15-minute consultation, just head to the link in our bio.

We’ve got some temporary residents on Upper Grosvenor Road for the next few weeks upgrading the gas mains.

Despite the sign you can still access the clinic and gym as well as meadow road car park.

As it seems the rest of Tunbridge Wells is also being dug up over summer please leave extra time for travel.

Before you decide whether osteopathy is "worth the money", it's worth asking a different question: what is the problem already costing you?

Because it is costing you something.

The painkillers you keep buying. The run you've quietly stopped doing. The sleep you lose to it. The low hum of always managing it, planning around it, working out whether today's a good day or a careful one.

None of that shows up on a price list. But you've been paying it for a while now, and it adds up.

Here's the thing we'd gently point out: putting up with it is open-ended.

It just keeps running. A course of treatment is the opposite shape, a beginning, an end, and a plan aimed at the cause rather than the symptom.

You're not making a fuss. If you're ready to stop carrying it, we're in Tunbridge Wells and we'll take the time to understand it properly.
Link in bio whenever that feels right.

Booking your first osteopathy appointment and not sure whether to go with the Head of Clinic or one of our associates?

It's one of the most common questions we get, and the answer is simpler than you'd think.
Here's the part that matters most: whoever you book with, you're seeing a fully qualified osteopath, registered with the General Osteopathic Council, who has done a four to five year degree to be able to treat you.
That isn't optional and it isn't different between practitioners.

Angus is our most experienced osteopath, with particular depth in chronic tendon injuries and longer, more complex cases, and because of that his diary isn't always open to new patients.

Our associates aren't a budget version of that.
Each has their own focus. Verity in women's health, sports injuries and surgical rehab. Josh in sports injuries and getting people back to what they love.

For a lot of people, an associate is the better-matched choice, not just the more affordable one.

This post breaks down who might choose which, so if you're sat deciding, give it a save.
And if you'd rather just get booked in, the link's in our bio. You'll be in good hands either way.

Three tests we use at the clinic to flag runner's knee, simplified so you can run them yourself at home (no pun intended…).

Watch each clip, give it a go, and count up your score on slide 6.

If two or three flagged up pain, you've got a couple of options.

Wait for next week's post on the at-home fix plan, or book a free 15-minute consultation with us to chat it through properly.

Also, make sure you tag a running mate who's been complaining about their knee!

Here's exactly what an osteopath costs at AG Osteopathy. No phoning round, no "prices on enquiry".

A first appointment is 45 minutes, because that's how long it takes to do it properly: a full history, a hands-on assessment, treatment, and a plan you actually leave with.

You can book with Angus, our Head of Clinic, or with one of our Associate Osteopaths at a slightly lower price. Both are fully qualified and registered, so the choice is yours to make on experience and budget, not on quality.

First appointments from £75. Follow-ups from £65. All in Tunbridge Wells, all bookable online in a couple of minutes.

If you've been putting off sorting something out because you weren't sure what it'd cost, now you know.

The link's in our bio whenever you're ready.

If you've ever stopped mid-run to rub your knee and wondered what was going on, this one's for you.

Runner's knee (patellofemoral pain syndrome, if you want the medical name) is one of the most common reasons runners stop running.

It's also one of the most fixable, but you've got to know what you're dealing with first.

Swipe for the 5 signs we see most often at the clinic.

If two or three sound familiar, drop us a line and lets get you in for an assessment.

Next week we're posting 3 tests you can do at home to check if it's actually runner's knee or something else.

Follow so you don't miss part 2.
