Traditional Thai Massage is an ancient form of body therapy, which incorporates both yoga and acupressure techniques. With gentle rocking, deep stretching and compressions it assists in the natural rebalancing of your muscular-skeletal framework. Known as “lazy man’s yoga” you will feel invigorated and centred after a treatment. Chavutti Thirumal is a full body massage using warm oils and the feet

to apply pressure. It was developed to maintain suppleness in the body and for treating pain and swelling. It is however equally suitable as a treatment for those not involved in regular or strenuous physical exercise and wishing to maintain their own fitness and well being.

What a magical night, beautifully organised by Hvězdárna Valašské Meziříčí. ✨🌙🌍🪐

We experienced the wonder of a ‘total’ lunar eclipse, watched the Perseid meteor shower, explored beautifully scaled models that brought the vastness of our universe into perspective, and even walked at the speed of light… well, to scale! 😄

An unforgettable evening full of curiosity and a reminder of just how extraordinary our universe truly is. 💫

The IT band itself isn’t the tissue we’re trying to “release” – it’s incredibly strong.

In Chavutti Thirumal, I use broad, controlled pressure with my feet to work the muscles surrounding the IT band, especially the vastus lateralis and tensor fasciae latae (TFL). This can help improve mobility, reduce tension, and create more ease through the outer leg and hip.

Strong, precise, and deeply grounding 👣

I don’t normally like to boast … 🤩 but this week I’m feeling incredibly blessed and deeply appreciated 🥰

One of my wonderful clients surprised me with this beautiful letter to mark their 100th treatment with me 🌟 Reading their words genuinely touched my heart.

Every treatment is time dedicated to listening, caring, learning and helping someone move a little more freely. Knowing that my clients feel that intention is the greatest reward I could ask for.

Here’s to the next 100 appointments 🤩 and to continuing to grow, learn and refine my knowledge and skills so I can offer even better care with every treatment.

To every client who has trusted me with their health and wellbeing, thank you. Thank you for your time, your trust, and for allowing me to be part of your journey. It truly means the world to me ❤️

I really should stay away from training courses… 🤣

I know I’ve only just returned from Osteo-Thai training with Itzhak Helman, but then a friend shared a fantastic deal for a MER (Myofascial Energetic Release) training last weekend, and I just couldn’t resist 😱

So thank you, MER, for such a beautiful experience. I learned so much, met wonderful people, and left feeling inspired all over again.

Now I’m very tempted to book a whole week at Leela in November… 🙈 Maybe 2026 is turning out to be the year of professional development! I’d better get back to work and start making some money to cover all these training adventures! 😂

I wish I could pamper everyone like this 🤩

Although, to be fair, not everyone can receive such strong stretches or may not be ready for them just yet. Every body is different, and every treatment should meet the person where they are.

Perhaps pampering comes in different levels after all! 🤣 Sometimes it’s deep stretches and powerful releases, and sometimes it’s simply slowing down, breathing, and allowing the body to relax.

Either way, it’s all about giving the body what it needs. ✨

I’m not sure I’d describe the treatments I provide as “pampering.” What I hope, more than anything, is that I’m making a positive difference to my clients’ lives, however small.

Massage is care, not just indulgence.

When we think of massage as simply a treat, we can overlook its real benefits. People seek massage for many reasons: pain management, injury recovery, improved mobility, stress reduction, enhanced athletic performance, and overall wellbeing.

And while relaxation may feel indulgent, reducing stress is far from a luxury. Chronic stress can have a significant impact on both physical and mental health. Massage can therefore be viewed as an important part of preventive wellness and self-care.

That said... in my next post, I’ll be sharing some of my more advanced pampering moves 😊

Before someone else asks me, “How was your holiday?”… let me tell you — I worked hard! 🤣

I’m delighted to have completed two advanced training courses with The Sunshine Network in association with the International Society of Thai Yoga Massage:

✨ Osteo-Thai Lower Body — 30 hours in Valdemanco, Spain 🇪🇸
✨ Osteo-Thai Upper Body — 30 hours in Tenerife, Spain 🇪🇸

So yes, I really did work hard! 😂

That said, I also managed to escape the routine of Tunbridge Wells for a while, enjoy some incredible food, meet amazing people, swim in the ocean, and create lots of wonderful memories 🤩

In other words… the perfect holiday! 😎☀️🌊

Osteo-Thai Tenerife – Itzhak Helman

What an incredible course once again with . It was such a journey… diving even deeper into the body’s wisdom and experiencing its magic firsthand.

Beautifully hosted by Dacely .dacely , this course felt especially meaningful. Dacely and Itzhak chose to go ahead with it despite the low number of participants. This wasn’t a business decision; it was something much more special. It became a way to honour and remember loved ones who have passed away, particularly here in Tenerife - the legacy of Aleksei 🤍, who used to organise these courses alongside his wife, Dacely.

Our sangha was simply incredible. We laughed, connected, and had so much fun while learning together 🤩

Itzhak guided us back to the core osteopathic principles and techniques, which I feel I am finally beginning to truly understand and sense. The body functions as an integrated whole, with remarkable self-regulating and self-healing capacities.

We explored the principle of structure-function reciprocity - how structure influences function and function influences structure; as well as the harmonic technique, a gentle osteopathic/manual therapy approach that uses rhythmic oscillatory movements to tune into the tissue’s natural movement patterns and resonance.

Such simple principles, yet so profound. I hope to integrate them more deeply and skilfully into my practice.

And the venue itself, El Alma Zen. What an absolute gem and sanctuary, tucked away in one of Tenerife’s busiest tourist areas. The centre was born in 2004 as an Aikido dojo, and you can still feel that spirit of presence, discipline, and harmony throughout the space. Thank you, El Alma Zen 🙏⚔️👘🥋

I also managed to sneak in a couple of adventures: kayaking with turtles 🐢 and spotting dolphins and pilot whales from a yacht. Absolutely magical 🤩

Now I’m in trouble… Itzhak has already announced another course in September! 😱 Looks like I’ll have to attend that one too.

My favourite… working with Tan Tien ✨

The main focus of Itzhak’s course in Valdemanco was Osteothai for lower back conditions … restoring lost rhythm and mobility in the lumbar spine.

Most of us think that when we have back pain, we should focus only on the back. But from a holistic perspective, the true point of focus is often the belly - especially the psoas muscle.

In this module, we worked deeply with the psoas, the Wat Po system of abdominal massage, and Tan Tien techniques to create space and release tension in the lumbar region.

In Chinese philosophy and traditional medicine, the Dantian (Tan Tien) translates as the “elixir field” or “sea of Qi” - the body’s physical and energetic center. It is essentially the Chinese equivalent of the Japanese concept of Hara.

A truly transformative touch 🌀
