The King lives!.......

With a 50's style diner lunch and Elvis in the house in the afternoon at Balmore, there was plenty of fun to be had at Balmore Country House this week. Our residents were aided by the lovely residents of our sister home, Orchard House, who joined us for lots of fun, food, milkshakes, singing, and laughter. It was a great day, thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.

Celebrating a new arrival!

Perhaps you remember you rmember holding a baby shower or attending one for a friend. Well, this week our lovely residents at The Ruddington got together to make baby shower favours for one of our female staff who's having a baby girl. They had a great time reminiscing about when they had children and what baby showers were like back in the day. For one of them, who used to be a midwife, it brought back lots of memories of births and deliveries and the families she helped. It was a lovely, relaxing few hours, and the 'shower' is going to look great.

Good luck Sophie!

On Friday, residents at St Peter's said a sad goodbye to their lovely exercise class leader, Sophie. She is going to train as a physiotherapist, and we want to wish her all the very best for her new job. Everyone will really miss her, but still enjoyed their last class with her. So good luck, Sophie, and come back and visit us any time. You will always be welcome!

Looking after our residents!

Everyone loves a little pampering from time to time - after all, we deserve it! Well, St Peter's residents are no different and we are only too happy to deliver regular pampering sessions to everyone who wants them. There were some beautiful manicures on display after we had held our pampering session this week. Everyone looked fab and it was a lovely way of sitting and relaxing for a while.

A fab new show!

We are so lucky at St Peter's. Fantastic local entertainers Kevin and Marie are frequent visitors to the home and always put on a brilliant show for us. Their latest offering was no less dazzling than previous outings, with loads of fab costumes, terrific tunes, and some lovely audience engagement. Thank you to both of them for giving such a fab afternoon.

A fantastic feast.......

St Peter’s lovely residents had their very own carvery today, and wow, it went down a treat. Everyone enjoyed picking their own tasty items with support from staff. The bar served all their favourite drinks to wash things down. Everyone enjoyed it so much; all we have heard since is when can we have that again!

A lovely service.....

Yesterday, The Rock Church visited our residents at Orchard House to provide a wonderful church service. Our residents really enjoyed participating, especially through singing and reminiscence activities. It was a wonderful and meaningful time for everyone, bringing joy, memories, and togetherness to our home.

Good luck Sophie!

Our lovely fitness trainer, Sophie, is going to work for herself as a Physiotherapist. Sophie visits St Peter's on a Friday morning to hold an exercise class. She has been a wonderful visitor to the home, and her classes are always engaging and fun. The residents are quite sad, and so they decided to make Sophie some Good Luck cards for her new job. Here are a few things our residents have said about her ....
"She is kind and caring towards us all"
"She encouraged us all to take part, and we will all miss her a lot"
We wish her all the very best in her new role and she is welcome back any time.

Always a treat!....

Afternoon Tea is a bit of a British institution...and deservedly so, as it's so yummy! Residents here at St Peter's licked their lips and got their napkins ready last week as they were treated to a fab spread of sandwiches, cakes, and all washed down with a refreshing cuppa! There were lots of happy faces and numerous requests for the whole thing to be repeated every week!
