As several of my clients move onto uni and college placements it means I will have some spaces opening up from September for personal, family and corporate counselling. As well as specialising in neurodivergent behaviours including pda I'm also now offering intense narrative exposure therapy so those that struggle to come weekly can book extended sessions (3-5 hours) to process specific traumatic events or have a place unpack and recompartmentalise their life story.

Did you know I also offer consultancy, supervision, training, and corporate counselling services for the work place or education setting. One day I'll update my website to show this but until then drop me a message if you'd like to talk about how I can help.

Because I know how much some of my clients struggle with unexpected change I'm pre-warning you all that I've had my hair cut into a short bob.

If you/your child needs a photo to help with preparing for the change to appearance please let me know before next session.

Thanks

A really polite request for teachers - please share this on your pages for your friends to hopefully read and be conscious of.

Watching newsround at school is a great way of helping children be made aware of world events at a level aimed for them. HOWEVER it's crucially important to then check in with them afterwards to make sure they don't have any questions, thoughts or worries about what they have seen.

It feels scary for children to see the people in charge of countries fighting and war is a complex concept most children don't fully understand (and frankly shouldnt have to). I've had several children this week raise with me how worried, scared and confused they are by it - every one of them have seen it on newsround at school and not one of them had an opportunity after watching it to discuss it with the teachers. One little boy who's daddy is in the army said he spent the day thinking his dad wouldn't be home when he got home and was in Iran fighting already. A quick chat with a teacher would have removed that overwhelming emotion.

If anyone, teachers or otherwise, would like support or advice on how to broach and dicuss this subject with their children please reach out.
