YOU DIDN’T PICK THE WRONG PERSON.
YOUR MIND PICKED WHAT IT THOUGHT LOVE LOOKED LIKE.
BECAUSE IT WAS FAMILIAR.
BECAUSE IT WAS ALL IT KNEW.
BUT FAMILIAR ISN’T THE SAME AS RIGHT.
AND UNTIL YOUR MIND LEARNS THE DIFFERENCE —
YOU’LL KEEP CHOOSING THE SAME PERSON.
DIFFERENT FACE. SAME PAIN.
You’re not unlucky in love.
You’re not broken. You don’t have bad taste. You’re not cursed.
Your mind is just doing what minds do — looking for what it already knows.
And what it knows about love was written a long time ago. In your childhood. In the home you grew up in. In the way love was shown to you — or wasn’t. In the way you had to earn it, chase it, fight for it, or settle for scraps of it.
And so your mind went out into the world and found exactly that.
Not because you’re weak. Because that’s what felt like home.
The anxious ones. The unavailable ones. The ones who need rescuing. The ones who run hot and cold. The ones who make you work for every drop of affection.
They felt familiar. And familiar felt like love.
But it isn’t love. It’s a pattern. And patterns can be broken.
When I work with someone on this we don’t just talk about the relationship. We go back to where love first got defined. We find the blueprint. And we rewrite it.
So that when real love shows up — steady, safe, consistent — it doesn’t feel boring.
It feels like exactly what you always deserved.
