Diabetes Week – 8-14 June 2026

This week is Diabetes Week, an annual awareness campaign from Diabetes UK. Running until 14 June, the theme this year is ‘Strike out Stigma’ and you can find more information and campaign resources at Diabetes Week 2026

This Diabetes Week, let's change how we talk about diabetes. 8 out of 10 people living with diabetes say they’ve faced negative attitudes because of their diabetes - people passing judgement, making sweeping statements, or blaming and shaming people living with diabetes. This is diabetes stigma. A...

Healthy Pregnancy, Healthy Baby Survey to expectant parents and families with babies under the age of one.

The survey, developed in partnership with Staffordshire County Council and Stoke-on-Trent City Council, aims to gather feedback on experiences of pregnancy, birth and early parenthood to help shape future support and services for families across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent.

The Survey Team are keen to hear from a wide range of people involved in caring for babies, including parents, grandparents and other family members who provide support.

Are you pregnant? Do you have a baby under 1 year old? If yes, we would love your help. We want to hear from people who care for babies, like mums, dads, grandparents, and other family members. Please tell us about your experiences of pregnancy, birth, and caring for a

The NHS Friends and Family Test (FFT) is an important tool to help people who use NHS services have the opportunity to provide feedback on their experience.

The FFT was created to help service providers and commissioners understand whether patients are happy with the service provided, or where improvements are needed. It's a quick and anonymous way to give your views after receiving NHS care or treatment.

Since the FFT was launched in 2013, millions of patients have submitted feedback. It's used by most NHS services, including community care, hospitals, mental health services, maternity services, GP and dental practices, emergency care, and patient transport.

Thank you to those patients who have taken the time to provide feedback via the Friends and Family Test during May 2026.

Our GPs don't want to rush you, and don't want to keep you waiting for your appointment any longer than necessary.

However, they only have ten minutes allocated to them for each appointment.

In ten minutes they:-
*will listen to your concerns;
*carry out observations, if required, such as take your blood pressure, check your pulse rate, listen to your heart and/or your chest;
*have a chat with you about your problem and decide upon a plan;
*issue an electronic prescription; checking prescribing guidelines, and whether there are any interactions with any of your other medication;
*send a task (an electronic email attached to your medical record) to our Practice Secretary to ask them to organise a referral to another Service / Team.
*Type up their consultation notes.

This is why we ask that you only bring one problem to your appointment.

We want you to discuss all your symptoms.
But if you have 2 or more separate problems, please book a separate appointment.

If you are kept waiting for your appointment, it is likely that an earlier patient has discussed more than one problem, meaning that the whole clinic will run later than planned.

Please do not be upset if a GP tells you that they are only able to discuss one problem with you, and that you will need to book another appointment.
This is because they want to give your problem their thorough attention in the time allocated.

Thank you for your understanding, and your continued support.

The heat can put extra pressure on emergency services, so if you need help, choose the right service for your symptoms. 🤔🚑

For minor illnesses or advice 👉 think NHS 111, your GP or local pharmacy before calling 999.

If it’s a life-threatening emergency, always call 999 immediately.
