We had a very special afternoon celebrating our Long Service, Resident and Relative Awards. With the red carpet out and plenty of smiles, it was a lovely opportunity to recognise some of the wonderful people who make Talbot House what it is. ❤️

We’re incredibly proud of our residents, relatives and dedicated team, and a special thank you goes to our manager Dan, whose support and commitment are hugely appreciated by everyone at the home.

Congratulations to all of our award winners, very well deserved! 💐👏

For July’s Caring Initiative, the team at Talbot House wanted to say a big thank you to our local fire station and the amazing work they do for our community.

Aggy put together a hamper filled with coffee, tea, cakes, biscuits, quick meals and plenty of treats for the team to enjoy. ☕🍰

A small gesture to show our appreciation to those who are always there when our community needs them. 🚒❤️

We recently came together for a wonderful afternoon of celebration, recognising the incredible people who make Talbot House such a special place to live and work.

Congratulations to our Long Service Award recipients, whose dedication, compassion and commitment have made a lasting difference to the lives of our residents over the years. We were also delighted to present our Resident of the Year and Relative of the Year awards, celebrating the kindness, positivity and support that make our Talbot House community so unique.

Residents and staff enjoyed a fun-filled awards ceremony, complete with a red carpet, applause and plenty of smiles, before everyone tucked into a delicious buffet with homemade coffee, Victoria sponge and lemon drizzle cake.

A huge congratulations to all of our deserving winners and thank you to everyone who helped make the day so memorable. Here’s to another year of creating special moments together! 💙

Our residents were treated to a wonderful performance from Karl’s Bavarian Brass Band, bringing plenty of music, singing, dancing and smiles to everyone.

There was lots of laughter as residents joined in with the fun, creating another afternoon full of special memories. To round off the day, everyone enjoyed some time relaxing together in the garden, making the most of the lovely weather.

A huge thank you to Karl’s Bavarian Brass Band for another brilliant visit, we can’t wait to welcome you back! 💙

A huge thank you to Jenny, a relative of one of our wonderful residents, for her incredibly thoughtful gift to Talbot House.

Jenny has kindly donated two beautiful roses, each chosen for the special meaning behind its name.

🌹 ‘Simply the Best’ – because Jenny believes Talbot House is simply the best.

🌹 ‘Cherished Memories’ – representing all of the wonderful memories made here with loved ones, residents and our dedicated team.

These beautiful roses are more than just a lovely addition to our garden; they’re a heartfelt reminder of the friendships, kindness and memories that make Talbot House such a special place.

Thank you, Jenny, for your generosity and thoughtfulness. We’re sure these roses will be admired and enjoyed for many years to come. ❤️

There were smiles all round as our residents enjoyed a delicious Chocolate Tasting Afternoon! 😋

With a choice of dark, milk and white chocolate, everyone had fun dipping their favourite treats, including:
🍓 Strawberries
🍌 Bananas
🍊 Orange segments
🍈 Melon
❤️ Raspberries
☁️ Marshmallows

It was a wonderful afternoon filled with laughter, conversation and, of course, plenty of sweet treats! Activities like these are a lovely way to bring everyone together, create happy memories and enjoy something a little different.

Last week, our residents got stuck into planting some new fruit trees in the garden including two Golden Delicious apple trees, two cherry trees and a pear tree.

From choosing the perfect spots to helping with the planting, everyone played a part. Now comes the exciting bit… watching them grow over the years and, hopefully, enjoying the fruit they produce.

A lovely afternoon outdoors and another project we can all look forward to seeing flourish. 🌱💚

Our residents enjoyed a wonderful visit to St Paul’s Church today, where they spent time listening to the piano being played and enjoying the music together.

A big thank you to everyone at St Paul’s for making us feel so welcome.

Our residents love helping to care for the gardens at Talbot House, watering the flowers, enjoying the fresh air and taking pride in the beautiful outdoor spaces we all get to enjoy. It’s a wonderful way to stay active, reminisce about favourite gardens over the years and simply enjoy the moment together.

Our residents took part in a hilarious Trust Game, where they were challenged to knock a cup off our manager’s head using a foam pipe… all in the name of fun, of course! 😄

There were plenty of laughs, lots of cheering and a few surprisingly powerful swings along the way! Safe to say, our manager discovered very quickly that some of our residents have hidden talents… and excellent aim! 🎯😂
