πŸ’™ A New Chapter, One Team, One Practice

July marked our first full month as ACF Medical Group, bringing together Fitzalan Medical Group and The Coppice & Angmering Medical Centre as a single practice serving nearly 30,000 patients across our community.

While the name may be new, our focus remains the same: providing high-quality care, improving access to services, and supporting patients when they need us most.

Throughout July, our teams delivered care in many different ways. From face-to-face and telephone appointments to online consultations, home visits and prescription services, thousands of patients received support across our sites. Our reception teams also continued to help patients navigate services, answer queries and arrange follow-up calls when needed.

We're also pleased that 87% of patients who completed the Friends and Family Test told us they would rate their experience as good or very good, with many comments highlighting the kindness of our staff, the professionalism of our clinicians, and the welcoming environment across our practices.

Some of the feedback that stood out included patients praising staff for taking the time to listen, explaining treatments clearly, and helping them feel at ease during appointments. These comments mean a great deal to our teams and reflect the values we strive to deliver every day.

As we move forward as one organisation, we'd also like to remind patients about the importance of cancelling appointments if they are no longer needed. During July, missed appointments resulted in the equivalent of six days of clinician time being lost. By letting us know you can't attend, we can offer that appointment to another patient who may be waiting for care.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us through this exciting transition. We're proud of what we've achieved together and look forward to continuing to serve our communities as ACF Medical Group. πŸ’™

June was another busy month for our team as we continued to provide care and support to our local community.
Across the month, thousands of patients were helped through a combination of face-to-face appointments, telephone consultations, online requests, home visits and prescription services. Our reception team also handled thousands of calls and arranged over 1,800 callbacks, ensuring patients could access the right help at the right time.
We are particularly proud that 94% of patients who completed the Friends and Family Test rated their experience as "Good" or "Very Good". Many of the comments highlighted our friendly reception team, caring nurses, supportive clinicians and the welcoming atmosphere within the practice.
Feedback included praise for:
⭐ Staff who went above and beyond to put patients at ease
⭐ Easy access to appointments and services
⭐ The professionalism and kindness shown by clinical teams
⭐ The positive, helpful attitude of staff throughout the surgery
While we're pleased with this feedback, we're always looking to improve. One way patients can help is by cancelling appointments they no longer need. During June, missed appointments resulted in 24 hours of clinical time being lost – valuable time that could have been used to support other patients waiting for care.
Thank you to everyone who shared feedback and to our dedicated team for their continued commitment to delivering high-quality care. πŸ’™

Important Update: NHS App & Online Services

We’d like to let our patients know that following our recent system merger, some people may find that their NHS App or online services (appointments, prescriptions, records) are not currently working.

πŸ”§ Why is this happening?
This is due to a technical issue caused by the system change, which has temporarily affected the connection to patient online accounts.

βœ… Good news:
Your medical records are safe and unchanged
This issue is temporary and we are working to restore access

πŸ“± What you may need to do
Some patients may need to re-register for online access with us.
Once this is done, your NHS App should start working again.

πŸ“ž In the meantime:
Call the practice for appointments or prescriptions
Use our usual contact methods for any urgent queries

πŸ™ We’re sorry for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience while we resolve this.

24/06/2026

As we get closer to our clinical systems merger on 30 June 2026, we'd like to make patients aware of some temporary service disruptions that will take place while our systems are being connected.

βœ… Both practices will be open and operating normally throughout the day on 30 June.

⚠️ From approximately 4:30pm, our computer systems will go offline while the merger takes place. During this time:
β€’ The NHS App will be unavailable
β€’ Online appointment booking will be unavailable
β€’ Online prescription requests will be unavailable

πŸš‘ If you need urgent medical advice during this period, please call 111. In an emergency, always call 999.

βœ… Full service will resume on 1 July, with all online services restored and your records available within our new, fully connected practice.

Please take a moment to review the timeline below and plan ahead where possible.

Thank you for your patience and support as we complete this important step towards becoming ACF Medical Group. πŸ’™πŸ’š
