As a passionate and dedicated physiotherapist with over 18 years of experience in Musculoskeletal and Women's Health Physiotherapy I bring a holistic approach to my work. I’ve had the privilege of working across diverse cultures in both the UK and Hong Kong, both in public and private healthcare settings, which has enriched my perspective and enhanced my skills as a clinician. My practice centers

on empowering individuals to listen to their bodies and move more efficiently to prevent injury and improve physical and mental well-being. With expertise in posture and movement education, I guide patients to optimize core and pelvic floor function, utilizing clinical pilates as well as techniques such as myofascial release, visceral mobilization and scar release to improve function, movement and health. As a mother, I understand the physical changes women experience during pregnancy, childbirth, and menopause. These stages bring significant shifts, and my mission is to support women in reclaiming control over their bodies during each phase. I view my role as an educator, coach, and advocate, helping women achieve optimal wellness and embrace strength as they navigate life’s transitions. Specialties:

Women’s Health Physiotherapy: obstetric musculoskeletal issues, gynaecology, urinary dysfunctions (stress and urge incontinence), pelvic organ prolapse, painful s*x, overactive bladder, chronic pelvic pain. Clinical Pilates: mat and equipment instruction

Spinal and hip pathology

Visceral and scar tissue mobilization

Sports and ergonomic injury rehabilitation

Postural correction and optimization

From painful periods to pregnancy, postnatal recovery and menopause — women’s health physiotherapy can help at every stage of life. 🤍

Here are some of the conditions I can assess and treat at Kate Cameron Physio:

• Diastasis recti
• Pregnancy-related pelvic & back pain
• Pelvic organ prolapse
• Overactive / tense pelvic floor
• Stress & urge urinary incontinence
• Overactive bladder syndrome
• Bladder pain syndrome / interstitial cystitis
• Pelvic pain, including vulvodynia & vaginismus
• Endometriosis & adenomyosis
• Painful s*x
• Menopause-related symptoms, including Genitourinary Syndrome of Menopause (GSM)
• Postnatal recovery & return to exercise
• Pelvic floor dysfunction & bowel symptoms

And sometimes, you don’t have a diagnosis — you just know that something doesn’t feel right.

Pain, leaking, heaviness, urgency, discomfort during s*x or changes in your bladder or bowel function aren’t things you simply have to put up with.

A women’s health physiotherapy assessment can help you understand what’s happening, why it’s happening and what you can do about it.

Watching my 12-year-old daughter play netball tonight, having just started secondary school, I found myself thinking about how many girls stop playing sport around this age.

I hope she continues to love moving, being active and playing sport for many years to come.

But earlier today in clinic, I met a lovely young women whose pelvic pain began when her periods started. Her mum held her hand as she told her story, tears in her eyes.

Her pain became chronic.

Her pain affected school, sport, relationships, her choice of career, and everyday life.

And as a mum, I hate to think of my daughter ever experiencing that.

Girls are taught about their bodies through s*x education — but what about female health education?

What is a normal period?
How much pain is too much?
When should you seek help?
And who do you go to?

We shouldn’t wait until girls are living with chronic pain before they understand that something isn’t right.

Girls need to understand their bodies.

Because understanding builds confidence. And confidence builds self-efficacy.

As a women’s health physio, this is something I feel increasingly passionate about.

I don’t know about you, but September always brings a bit of a mix of emotions.

The end of summer. The return to routine. New beginnings.

For me, this September feels particularly significant as our youngest starts secondary school.

A big change.
A big step.
And, if I’m honest, a little overwhelming.

Trying not to worry about what’s ahead, while also letting go of what’s gone.

And then there’s the balancing act of running your own business, being a mum, juggling family, work and all the other things that seem to fill the days.

As a women’s health physiotherapist, I meet so many women in this stage of life — the sandwich years — looking after children, parents, partners, careers… and often themselves last.

Sometimes I find myself asking:

“But how do you actually relax?”

For me, the answer came quite unexpectedly.

24 hours paddling down the River Stour with my son.

A chance to step away from the usual noise of everyday life.

No emails.
No jobs to tick off.
No rushing from one thing to the next.

Just water, nature, conversation, laughter… and a LOT of duckweed!

And somewhere along the river, I noticed I felt different.

Calmer.
More present.
More grounded.

It made me realise how often I’m drawn to water when life feels a little unsettled.

Perhaps it’s the rhythm of paddling.
Perhaps it’s being surrounded by nature.
Or perhaps it’s simply having the space to slow down and be present.

Whatever it is, this is mindfulness for me.

Not necessarily sitting still or finding 20 minutes of quiet.

Just finding something that allows you to pause, breathe and reconnect with yourself.

And perhaps, in the middle of all the juggling, that’s something we could all do a little more of. ❤️

What’s your happy place? What helps you switch off and truly relax? ness

If you’ve ever leaked a little when running, jumping, lifting weights or even laughing, I want you to know something...

Leaks are common, but they are NOT something you should simply put up with. 🩵

One of the biggest challenges I see is that bladder and bowel symptoms stop women exercising at exactly the time when movement is most important for their health, strength and wellbeing.

Too many women quietly stop doing the activities they love because they think leakage is “just part of getting older” or “something that happens after having children.”

It doesn’t have to be.
🧡 The evidence is clear that, for many women, pelvic floor muscle training, the right exercise guidance and specialist support can significantly improve symptoms. In many cases, women can return to exercising confidently and comfortably.

As a Menopause Movement-trained coach, I’ve been trained to understand how menopause affects the pelvic floor and why symptoms such as leakage can happen. I know how to have these conversations sensitively, support you to exercise safely, and signpost you to the right healthcare professionals, such as a menopause specialist GP, vulval@dermatologist or urogynaeocogist.

You don’t have to stop moving.
You don’t have to suffer in silence.
And you certainly don’t have to navigate this on your own. 🩷

If leakage, urgency or pelvic floor concerns are affecting your confidence or stopping you from exercising, send me a message or speak to me at your next session. Together, we’ll help you find the right support so you can get back on track with your fitness journey.

Because every woman deserves to move with confidence. 💪

For a new business, social media can feel like a bit of a rollercoaster. Some posts take off, others disappear into the Instagram abyss... and I'm learning every single day!

But if there's one thing that's at the heart of my practice, it's education. If I can help more women understand their bodies, raise awareness of pelvic health, pregnancy, postpartum recovery and menopause, and make specialist physiotherapy more accessible, then that's a win in my book.

To say thank you for supporting my little business, and because I know how easy it is to put yourself last (especially whilst juggling the children over the summer holidays!), I'm offering 20% off Mummy MOT appointments throughout the summer.

Simply share this post with a friend or DM me quoting "SUMMER20" and I'll get your appointment booked.

Thank you for every follow, share, recommendation and kind word. Every bit of support helps my business grow and helps more women access the care they deserve. 💛
