Ok, so this was me AGAIN this morning, currently side swiping at least one glass a week on the floor, spending an age making sure I got all the shards up, or walking into doorframes, chairs…
So that I know I am not going mad, this can be ANOTHER symptom of perimenopause
When your oestrogen levels start riding a rollercoaster, it affects a lot more than just your mood and your periods. Oestrogen plays a massive role in your nervous system. When it drops, your spatial awareness can take a hit (meaning your brain literally misjudges how close that doorframe is), your inner ear balance can shift, and your grip strength can temporarily weaken. My grip strength has also gone walkabout! You aren’t losing your mind. Your brain and body are just trying to recalibrate.
The good news? We can absolutely support your nervous system and brain health through your plate.
Here is where I tell my clients to start:
Load up on Magnesium & Omega-3s: Think pumpkin seeds, leafy greens, wild salmon, and walnuts. These are pure fuel for your nervous system, help calm inflammation in your joints, and give your brain the resilience it needs right now.
Check your hydration: It sounds basic, but even mild dehydration makes brain fog and slow reflexes ten times worse.
Maybe slow down a bit? I’m way worse when I am rushing (and who isn’t always rushing)
Anyone else noticed they are dropping a load of s**t lately too?
