💜 I wish people understood that…

Living with chronic illness can be incredibly difficult, but one of the hardest parts is often feeling misunderstood.

There are so many things people don’t see - the pain behind a smile, the exhaustion after doing something “normal”, the anxiety, the cancelled plans, or how much effort it can take just to get through an ordinary day.

For me, I wish more people understood that looking okay doesn’t always mean feeling okay.

But today, I want to hear from YOU.

Finish this sentence in the comments:

“I wish people understood that…”

Let’s use this space to listen, learn and remind each other that we’re not alone.

Stronger together. 💜

🎙️ Help me choose the song for my radio interview! 🎶

On Thursday 13th August, I’ll be recording my interview with Dream Catcher Radio and the wonderful Lisa King-Selfloveologist , talking about my health journey, why I started Journey With Jason, and what’s next for our community. 💜

I want to choose a song that represents overcoming difficult times, holding onto hope and keeping going — and I want YOU to decide!

🎵 Bob Seger – Turn the Page
🎵 Meghan Trainor – Better When I’m Dancin’
🎵 Wilson Phillips – Hold On
🎵 Creedence Clearwater Revival – Have You Ever Seen the Rain
🎵 Matthew Wilder – Break My Stride
🎵 Katherine Jenkins – Make Me a Channel of Your Peace

Comment your favourite below 👇 and vote on my story poll!

The song with the most votes will be played during my interview and dedicated to this incredible community.

Stronger together. 💜

A little appreciation post for Chaos City 💜

Living with chronic health conditions means I don’t get out and about as often as I’d like, so finding places where I feel comfortable, welcome and genuinely happy means so much to me.

Chaos City Comics in St Albans has become one of those places. They’ve created such a wonderful community, everyone is always so lovely, and comics have definitely become one of my guilty pleasures! 😄

Chronic illness can take away or restrict so many of the things you once enjoyed, which makes finding hobbies and interests that you can still enjoy even more special.

This little community and hobby has genuinely helped me, and continues to do so. 🤍

I’d love to know - what hobbies or interests bring you joy despite the limitations your health might give you? Share them below and hopefully we can inspire each other. 💜

Stronger together.

This quote made me think of every single one of you.
Journey With Jason is so much more than a social media page - it’s a community. A place where people support one another, share their stories, lift each other up and remind one another that we’re never alone.

To everyone who comments, sends a message, says a prayer, or simply follows along... thank you. Your kindness has helped me through some of my toughest days, and I hope this community has helped you too.

We really are stronger together. 🤍💜

One thing living with rheumatoid arthritis has taught me is that looking after my body isn’t just about what I include in my diet - it’s also about what I choose to leave out.

Over the years, I’ve made some big lifestyle changes:

🥤 No fizzy drinks for 6+ years
🍔 No fast food for 7+ years
🍫 No chocolate for 2 years
🍷 Now completely teetotal
🥩 I also choose not to eat red meat.

For me, these changes have become part of my journey towards supporting my overall health. Research suggests that for some people with rheumatoid arthritis, foods such as sugary drinks, highly processed and fried foods, red and processed meats, refined carbohydrates and alcohol may contribute to inflammation. But everyone is different, so it’s important to find what works for you and to speak to your rheumatologist or a registered dietitian before making significant dietary changes.

These choices aren’t a cure, but they’re one of the ways I try to give my body the best support I can.

Have you found any foods that make you feel better - or worse? I’d love to hear your experiences in the comments. 💜

Stronger together. 🤍
