You know the session is going well when your thoughts go from “I hope my feet aren’t freezing” to “I may never put my shoes back on.” 👣

It’s tempting to believe that there is, somewhere out there, the perfect diet and all we need to do to achieve perfect health is find it. Many people, of course, believe they’ve already done so: low-fat, high- fat, high-protein, low-carb, vegetarian, vegan, the list goes on. And it’s true that each of these options will be effective for some people, but none is a one-size-fits-all solution.

In this FREE guide, I’ve included 5 suggested interventions. Each one will help you improve your health, and the good news is that they all connect with each other, so when you start doing one, the other four become considerably easier.

They apply to everyone, no matter what your dietary preference, and they are designed to be sustainable and achievable and you should take them at your own pace

Have you ever noticed yourself taking a long, deep breath during reflexology, even though you weren’t consciously trying to?

At the beginning of a session, your breathing may still be quite quick or shallow. As you become comfortable, feel less distracted and realise that nothing is expected of you for the next while, it may begin to soften naturally.

When we are busy, worried or rushing, the body can remain in a more alert state. As we begin to relax, the parasympathetic branch of the nervous system becomes more active. This is the part associated with rest, recovery and settling after stress.

Reflexology gives you a period of stillness, supportive touch and focused attention, away from phones, jobs and everyday demands. For some people, that environment makes it easier to unwind, and a change in breathing may simply be one of the ways that relaxation shows itself. Some studies have recorded changes in heart-rate variability following foot reflexology or foot massage, suggesting possible short-term changes in autonomic activity.

As reflexologists, we often notice the moment a client releases a long breath or lets out a little sigh. We don’t see it as something they need to make happen. It is simply a lovely sign that they may be feeling more comfortable and allowing themselves to settle.

Not everyone’s breathing changes, and there is no “correct” way to respond to a treatment. Some people become very still, some chat for a while, and others take most of the session to properly relax. All of that is completely normal.

You don’t need to concentrate on your breathing or try to switch off. Just get comfortable and let your body find its own pace. 💜

We don't often think about our digestion until something feels "off". Bloating, sluggishness, discomfort, or that feeling that your stomach is just not quite cooperating can have a real impact on how you feel day to day.

One thing that's often overlooked is the connection between the gut and the nervous system.

When we're stressed, our body naturally prioritises survival over digestion. Blood flow is redirected, stress hormones increase, and processes like digestion can slow down or become less efficient. It's one of the reasons many people notice digestive symptoms become worse during busy or stressful periods.

This is where reflexology may help.

Reflexology is a complementary therapy that encourages the body to move into a more relaxed, "rest and digest" state. By supporting nervous system regulation, reflexology may help create the conditions that allow the digestive system to function more effectively. Many people also find that regular sessions help them become more aware of the connection between stress, lifestyle, and their digestive health.

It's important to remember that reflexology isn't a treatment for digestive conditions, but it can be a valuable addition to a holistic approach to wellbeing alongside a balanced diet, regular movement, good hydration, quality sleep, and advice from your healthcare professional where needed.

Sometimes our gut isn't asking for another supplement or the latest wellness trend.

Sometimes it's asking us to slow down.

Have you ever noticed your digestion changes when life gets particularly stressful?

Have you booked in your next treatment?

From holidays to hiking, gardening to beach walks, summer has a way of keeping us on our feet 👣 ☀️

We tend to walk more, stand for longer, wear less supportive footwear, travel, and spend more time outdoors. All of these changes begin with our feet.

In reflexology, the feet are seen as a detailed map of the body, with over 7,000 nerve endings providing a rich source of sensory information. Gentle, targeted pressure on reflex points is thought to stimulate the nervous system, encouraging the body to shift from a “doing” state into a more restorative one.

This is one reason many people notice they feel deeply relaxed during or after a treatment- even when they hadn’t realised how much tension they were carrying.

Summer often encourages us to be more active, but it also reminds us of the importance of recovery. Looking after your feet isn’t just about comfort; it’s about supporting the foundation that carries you through every season.

Have you noticed your feet feeling different during the summer months?

Keep hydrated!

Keep hydrated!

💧 Why does your reflexologist always remind you to drink plenty of water?

It’s not just a friendly reminder - it’s an important part of supporting your wellbeing.

Our bodies are made up of around 60% water, and every cell relies on it to function properly. Water helps transport nutrients, regulate body temperature, lubricate joints, support digestion, and flush waste products from the body.

When you’re dehydrated, even mildly, you may notice:
💧 Fatigue or low energy
💧 Headaches
💧 Muscle cramps
💧 Brain fog or poor concentration
💧 Dry skin
💧 Dizziness
💧 Constipation

During a reflexology treatment, your body is encouraged to relax, rebalance, and support its natural healing processes. Staying well hydrated helps your body function at its best before and after your session.

☀️ In the summer months, it’s even easier to become dehydrated. Warmer weather means we lose more fluid through sweating, and if we’re spending time outdoors, exercising, travelling, or enjoying the sunshine, our water needs increase.

A few simple ways to stay hydrated:
✅ Sip water regularly throughout the day rather than waiting until you’re thirsty.
✅ Enjoy water-rich foods like cucumber, watermelon, oranges, and strawberries.
✅ Remember that tea and coffee don’t replace water, especially on hot days.

Think of water as one of the simplest acts of self-care - it supports your body every single day.

So next time your reflexologist reminds you to drink more water, you’ll know it’s because we want you to get the very best from your treatment and feel your healthiest.

The recommended daily water intake is around 8 glasses a day, although your individual needs may vary depending on your activity level, the weather, and your overall health.
How many glasses of water have you had today?💙👣
