The idea that a frozen shoulder will just ‘sort itself out’ is really outdated.

It came from a 1970s study, where only 39 per cent actually fully recovered.

The average frozen shoulder lasts about two and a half years if you just leave it.

That’s a long time to wait for something that can respond really well to the most up-to-date treatments.

Comment the word FROZEN and we will send you our shoulder pain guide.

The reason a running injury keeps coming back is often nothing to do with where it hurts.

The way you move decides which bits end up injured. And the way you move changes as you get tired.

None of that shows up to the naked eye, which is why we test our runners to see exactly how they move, how much force they produce and how well they absorb shock.

At Cornwall Physio we've built a full movement testing lab for runners: The Run Lab® 3D gait analysis, VALD performance testing and our Footscan.

If you treat the sore bit without finding the root cause, then the same injury keeps coming back. That's why we measure exactly what's going on, then build a plan based on what we find.

We can help you recover from an injury AND run faster.

Researchers scanned BOTH knees of people with a painful meniscus tear. 63% had exactly the same tear in their other, pain-free knee.

Same person. Same tear. One knee sore, one knee fine.

Nobody tells you that when you are handed a scan report with the words "meniscus tear" or "arthritis" on it. You leave assuming the damage explains the PAIN, and that it is now permanent.

Usually it is neither. Bone on bone knees can be completely painless, and the grading on your scan tells you very little about how it actually feels.

This is why we treat the SYMPTOMS, not the scan.

If you want to keep doing your hobbies and sports, we are here to help. At Cornwall Physio we assess what is actually causing your symptoms, then build the treatment around your goals.

Any symptom that has lasted more than a few months is being kept going by something.

Pain. Fatigue. Broken sleep. A gut that plays up.

Short lived symptoms usually have a simple local cause. The ones that persist are being maintained, and very often the thing maintaining them is a nervous system stuck in protection mode.

The good news is that a sensitive or 'dysregulated' nervous system is treatable. At Cornwall Physio we have NESA X-Signal Neuromodulation, to do just that.

NESA is an advanced, non-invasive treatment that works directly on the nervous system, helping it settle out of protection mode and restore balance.

Many of the shoulders that arrive here labelled a rotator cuff problem are not one.

We see it most weeks. People have been given exercises, or found them online, and they are not helping. Then we assess it properly and it turns out to be the bursa, the capsule, or the neck. The shoulder was never the problem. The diagnosis was.

Comment the word SHOULDER and we will send you our shoulder pain guide.

Exercise Doesn’t Damage Arthritic Joints – It Protects Them

One of the biggest myths we hear?

“Exercise will wear out my joints.”

The latest research shows the opposite.
Movement actually protects your joints by keeping cartilage healthy and inflammation low… this even includes impact exercise like RUNNING!

At Cornwall Physio, our team designs progressive rehab plans so you can move confidently — whether that’s walking the coast path or getting back to the gym — without pain.

And if your joints are too sore to start?
Our EMTT and Focused Shockwave treatments can dramatically reduce inflammation first — so you can get moving again safely.
