โ— Flu & COVID Vaccinations โ—

๐Ÿ‚ Get Winter Ready!

Don't let flu or COVID-19 catch you out this winter. Vaccination remains one of the most effective ways to reduce your risk of serious illness and hospitalisation. Getting vaccinated helps protect both you and those around you.

๐Ÿ“… Our vaccination clinics are available throughout the autumn.
We will be holding Saturday clinics as well as additional weekday appointments at both Wheal Northey and Mevagissey. Eligible patients will be offered both their Flu and COVID-19 vaccinations.

You may be eligible for a FREE NHS Flu vaccine if you:
โœ… Are aged 65 and over
โœ… Are pregnant
โœ… Have certain long-term health conditions
โœ… Are a carer
โœ… Live with someone who has a weakened immune system
โœ… Work in frontline health or social care roles

COVID-19 vaccination eligibility includes:
โœ… Adults aged 75 and over
โœ… Residents in care homes for older adults
โœ… People with a weakened immune system due to a health condition or treatment

๐Ÿ“ฑWe have started inviting patients

๐Ÿ“ขImportant: Please Make Sure You Stay Registered With Our Practice ๐Ÿ“ข

NHS England is currently checking GP patient lists across the country to make sure records are up to date. This helps identify patients who may no longer live in England or within their registered practice area. The aim is not to remove genuine patients from GP lists.

If you have not visited the surgery or ordered a repeat prescription in the last 18 months, you may receive a text message, email, or letter from NHS England or from our practice asking you to:

โ€ข Confirm your contact details
โ€ข Confirm that you still live within our practice area

Please do not ignore these messages.

If you do not respond, NHS England may remove you from our patient list. This is part of a national NHS England process and is not controlled by the practice.

If you still live within our practice area, there is no need to worry. Simply reply to the message as soon as possible and your registration will remain active.

If you are removed by mistake, you may need to re-register with the practice before you can access routine GP services.
What do I need to do?

If you receive a message asking you to confirm your details, please respond straight away to ensure you remain registered with our practice.

Thank you for helping us keep your records and registration up to date.

๐ŸŒž Heatwave advice: medicines & staying safe ๐Ÿ’Š

With the hot weather here, itโ€™s important to remember that heat can affect both your medicines and your body.

โœ… Simple steps to stay safe:
โ€ข Keep medicines cool, dry, and out of direct sunlight
โ€ข Avoid leaving them in cars, bags or windowsills
โ€ข Drink plenty of fluids and stay hydrated
โ€ข Check if your medication makes you more sensitive to the sun
High temperatures can reduce how well medicines work and may increase side effects.

๐Ÿง  Taking antidepressants or antipsychotics? Please take extra care
Some mental health medications can affect how your body controls temperature, making it harder to cool down and increasing your risk of overheating.

This means you may be more likely to experience:
โ€ข Excessive sweating
โ€ข Dehydration
โ€ข Heat exhaustion

๐Ÿ’ง Top tips:
โ€ข Drink water regularly
โ€ข Stay in the shade or indoors during the hottest parts of the day
โ€ข Wear light, loose clothing
โ€ข Know the signs of heat exhaustion (dizziness, nausea, headaches)

โ— Important: Keep taking your medication as prescribed โ€“ do not stop without speaking to a healthcare professional.

If you feel unwell or have concerns, please contact your us online or your local pharmacy.
Stay cool and take care ๐Ÿ’™
