Very raw, very personal post...
4 weeks ago I literally hit rock bottom...I wasn't sleeping, anxiety was through the roof, hot flashes, waking up (when I did manage to sleep) in a pool of water, absolutely zero motivation for anything, brain fog, physically shaking, nauseous but couldn't eat, I had to cancel plans because I just couldn't function...
Then thankfully, my wonderful friend came for an appointment - took one look at me, cancelled my day and made me ring the GP - Kelly I will forever be grateful as you know ππ
That afternoon, the GP prescribed me HRT patches - welcome to Perimenopaue Lis!
I honestly truthfully couldn't have been happier, I'd been suffering like this for over 2 years, with symptoms just getting worse.
But because of my age (46 next week), it was always previously deemed too early to be entering perimenopause π«£
Luckily for me, this GP (a male locum I might add) actually listened to me, took into account the age when Mamma Bear started her "change" and for once made me feel seen and understood and even noted that he could see in my notes that I'd had these symptoms since 2024
So 4 weeks on, I feel like a different person - actually no, I feel like me again - the anxiety has gone, I'm sleeping, a few tropical moments but it has been crazy weather too, I want to do things and not just sleep the clock around, I've started studying again - something that i just couldn't have imagined a few months ago, I feel happier, back in control and enjoying myself again - its been like being reverse hypnotised and "Click" I'm back in the room!
By all means, I am definitely not a menopause guru and never would I profess to be. But if any of what I've said in this post helps just one person to finally make the call to their GP then I'll be over the moon
And yes, I'm still treating myself with acupuncture but sometimes, even I need a little intervention too...Lis β―οΈπΏπ
