A LITTLE GIFT FROM ME ❤️
I've reached the end of my Hypnotherapy Myth-Busting Week!
I've talked about mind control, swinging watches, children who don't want to talk & why children's therapy doesn't actually have to feel like therapy at all.

Today, I wanted to finish the week by giving you something........

Our puppas are THREE today!

Happy Birthday to our gorgeous boys, Bear & Beau

Bear lives with us & Beau lives with our son, Daniel, but when these two were together, it was double trouble. Cheeky little boys!

I still remember when we first met them & we were told they were a quarter Chihuahua.

Well, we have 2 little Chihuahuas girls, so we KNOW Chihuahuas. I can confidently say that I don’t think there’s even a whisker of Chihuahua anywhere near these two. 🤣🤣

I’m not sure who their Chihuahua relative was supposed to be. Perhaps one looked at their great-grandmother once?

Whatever mixture went into making them, though, we don’t care because we absolutely adore them.

They’re funny, loving, completely bonkers, full of personality & very much part of our family. ❤️

So today there will undoubtedly be extra cuddles, extra treats & absolutely no acknowledgement whatsoever of the fact that they are spoilt every other day of the year too.

Happy 3rd Birthday Bear & Beau!

Here’s to another year of chaos, cuddles & still trying to work out what on earth you actually are! Not that we care anyway!

CHILDREN AS YOUNG AS SIX ARE TURNING UP AT A&E IN MENTAL HEALTH CRISIS.

Just read that again. Yes. Six years old.

New figures from the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH), using NHS England data, show that in 2025:

⭐️75,491 children and young people aged 6–17 attended A&E with a recorded mental health concern.

⭐️That’s a 36% increase since 2019.

But the figure that really stopped me in my tracks was this:

⭐️Among children aged just 6–9, attendances increased by a staggering 62%, from 3,870 in 2019 to 6,269 in 2025.

It gets worse: some children are spending more than 12 hours in A&E waiting for appropriate support.

These aren’t just statistics. These are shocking and terrifying statistics.

Behind every number is a child.

⭐️A frightened six-year-old.
⭐️An overwhelmed eight-year-old.
⭐️A ten-year-old who doesn’t understand why they feel the way they do.

Behind them is often an exhausted, frightened parents wondering:

“What do we do? Where do we go? How did we get to this point?”

This is exactly why I talk so much about early intervention. We shouldn’t have to wait until a child’s anxiety becomes unbearable.

⭐️Until they stop going to school.

⭐️Until eating or sleeping becomes difficult.

⭐️Until their behaviour becomes their only way of communicating that something isn’t right.

And certainly not until A&E becomes the only place left to turn.

Children’s mental health support shouldn’t begin at crisis point. It should begin when we first notice the signs, when there is still an opportunity to help a child understand what’s happening inside them and give them the tools to manage it.

As a Children’s Mental Health & Behaviour Specialist, this is something I feel incredibly strongly about.

Behaviour is communication. Anxiety is communication. Withdrawal is communication.

Sometimes our children are telling us they need help long before they have the words to say, “I’m struggling.”

Please don’t dismiss the little signs.

Early support can matter enormously. ❤️

I think my plant is trying to tell me something.
Ten years ago, I bought this Anthurium for my therapy room. It’s moved with me, sat quietly in the background through thousands of conversations, worries, tears, breakthroughs & changes.
But in all those years, it has never flowered. Not once. Plenty of lovely green leaves but never those gorgeous red flowers it’s supposed to have.
Then this year, I made quite a big decision. After years of working from my clinic, I moved my practice home and created Little Haven, my therapy room in the garden.
And, of course, the plant came with me.
Well, look at it now.
TEN YEARS without a flower & suddenly it’s blooming!
Maybe it loves its new home. Maybe it likes the sunshine. Or maybe it’s trying to tell me, “You’re exactly where you’re meant to be.” ❤️
I’m choosing to believe the last one.
Funny how sometimes the smallest things can make you feel you’ve made the right decision.
What do you think? Coincidence or a little sign from the universe? 🌺

WHAT CHILDREN HAVE TAUGHT ME ❤️
All week, I've been telling you about how I work with children.
But today, I want to turn that around…
Because after years of working with children and young people, I've realised something.
They've taught me an awful lot too.

DOES THERAPY MEAN SOMETHING IS WRONG?
I want to bust two more myths that I think are really important when we're talking about children.
A child only needs therapy when something is seriously wrong.
Absolutely not!!

MY CHILD WON’T TALK TO YOU!

Yesterday we got rid of the swinging pocket watch & busted the myth that I somehow control your child’s mind.
Today, I’m tackling something I hear from parents ALL the time…

This week, I’m going to have a bit of fun & bust some of the biggest myths I hear about hypnotherapy, particularly when it comes to working with children.
