Did you know Stennack Surgery is available for Pay & Display Parking in the Evenings Mon-Fri from 6pm until 8am & also ALL day at weekends & bank holidays. Please note it is Patient Parking ONLY Mon-Fri 8am-6pm & visitors to St Ives cannot park at the surgery during this time, only patients using medical facilities on site. ANPR cameras are in operation.

🚑 It's come to our attention that some members of our community weren't aware that Stennack Surgery has its own Minor Injury Unit (MIU) – so we thought we'd spread the word!

Our Minor Injury Unit is open Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 8:00pm (excluding bank holidays), providing care for a wide range of minor injuries.

Our fantastic MIU team includes Nurse Practitioners supported by a GP.

You don't need an appointment, just walk in for the first presentation of a minor injury. We can assess and treat many minor injuries, including:
🩹 Cuts and lacerations
💪 Suspected sprains and strains
🔥 Minor burns and scalds
👁️ Minor eye injuries
🤕 Minor head injuries
🦠 Minor infections
➕ Many other minor injuries requiring assessment and treatment.

If your injury needs more specialised or emergency care, our clinicians will ensure you are directed to the most appropriate service.

Please note we do not have an x-ray machine at our MIU.

The Perinatal Loss and Trauma Team provides specialist support for women and birthing people experiencing significant mental health difficulties related to pregnancy and birth.

If you're experiencing moderate to severe mental health difficulties during pregnancy, or after your baby is born, the Cornwall Perinatal Mental Health Team is here to help. They provide specialist assessment, diagnosis and short-term treatment, as well as support with mental health birth planning and helping to prevent relapse.

Our Nurse Practitioners (NPs) are highly skilled clinicians here to help you

At The Stennack Surgery, we know that some patients are surprised when they're offered an appointment with one of our Nurse Practitioners instead of a GP. We wanted to explain why and reassure you that you're in excellent hands!

Our Nurse Practitioners are highly experienced clinicians with advanced training. They are qualified to assess, diagnose and treat a wide range of medical conditions, making them experts in managing many of the health problems that patients contact us about every day.

You may be offered an appointment with a Nurse Practitioner for a variety of common conditions and concerns, including:
✅ Coughs, colds, sore throats and chest infections
✅ Ear infections and sinus problems
✅ Urinary tract infections (UTIs)
✅ Minor injuries such as sprains, strains and minor wounds
✅ Skin conditions such as rashes, eczema or infections
✅ Headaches and migraines
✅ Stomach upsets and abdominal pain
✅ Assessment of exacerbations of long-term conditions such as asthma/COPD
✅ And more!

Many patients find that an NP can provide exactly the same level of assessment and treatment they need, often with the added benefit of having dedicated time to discuss their concerns and treatment options.

By ensuring patients see the most appropriate clinician for their needs, we are able to:

💙 Improve access to appointments
💙 Ensure our GPs are available for patients with the most complex or specialist medical needs

⚠️ Temporary Early Closure Today ⚠️

Due to staff sickness and capacity within the team, our Minor Injury Unit is now closed for the remainder of today.

As a result, Stennack Surgery will be closing at 6:30pm this evening instead of 8:00pm.

Both Stennack Surgery and the Minor Injury Unit will reopen as normal at 8:00am tomorrow morning.

If you require treatment for a minor injury this afternoon or evening, please attend:
West Cornwall Hospital Minor Injury Unit, Penzance, or
Camborne Redruth Hospital Minor Injury Unit.

We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your understanding.
