The legend that is has made an incredible documentary about Endometriosis, that landed yesterday. It pacts a punch, as you’d expect from Emma who is doing amazing advocacy work.
She shares even more of her own painful experience of life with the condition, that she endures whilst asking the former Health Secretary Wes Streeting to give her an answer as to why more hasn’t been done, to traveling up and down the country to speak to other women sharing heartbreaking accounts of how much they have been suffering.
Emma says how she’s had to become a knowledge warrior and hearing her describe ‘how incredible it would be to not have to contend with this pain’ gives you such an insight into how all consuming the condition is and the he impact it has on every day life.
One lady had her appendix removed - it wasn’t appendicitis she was experiencing and another is awaiting a hysterectomy.
I thought it was brilliant and aim to share it with our members as I think it’s an excellent training tool. Be sure to watch and share.
At the end of the documentary is states how as of 1st June the government has said they are redesigning clinical pathways to speed up diagnosis and treatment for gynae issues which includes endometriosis. It also highlights that 30-50% of women with Endometriosis experience infertility and I wanted to remind you of one of our recent chats with discussing fertility treatment if you are managing the condition
