Following the publication of England's COVID-19 response: Summer 2021, and the Prime Minister's follow up statement on the 12th July, the Government has stated that health and care settings in England should continue to maintain appropriate prevention and control (IPC) measures.
The Chief Medical and Chief Scientific advisers have also stated that THE PANDEMIC IS NOT OVER and they expect an extremely high prevalence of COVID-19 infections until at least the end of August.
Optical sector bodies support the need to maintain robust IPC measures and we will continue to monitor updated public health advice and work with NHS England as the situation evolves.
Julie Hatchell Opticians will be continuing the following measures:
Face masks compulsory for all patients entering the premises, unless there is a documented health exemption or the patient is a young child.
Triaging before an appointment is offered. This is being done to assess urgency of appointment and to minimise face to face time in the practice examination room, due to the very close proximity that we work with patients.
Social distancing in waiting/dispensing areas
Disinfection of all frames handled by patients and staff before being put back on display
Appointment only entry to access services.
Locked front door to control numbers of people entering the practice
Disinfection of all examination room and dispensing equipment and areas in between patient use
Where necessary, telephone consultations.
Screens kept in place.
All of the staff are fully vaccinated and
we will continue to work hard , to keep YOU and ourselves, safe and risk free of Covid 19.
Thankyou for playing your part in keeping my staff and myself safe by continuing to comply with the safety measures we are implementing and requesting.
Julie.
