Not every nail discolouration means fungal infection.
This is so important.
A yellow, white, brown or lifted nail does not automatically mean “fungus”. Nail discolouration can be caused by trauma, pressure, old bruising, product damage, onycholysis, psoriasis, staining, overfiling, medication, health conditions or many other factors.
And when the diagnosis is wrong, the treatment is wrong too.
Using antifungal products when there is no fungal infection may not help at all. In some cases, it can dry the nail plate, irritate the surrounding skin and make the nail look even worse.
Please don’t waste money trying every pharmacy product or home remedy without knowing what you are actually treating.
The nail needs proper assessment first.
Sometimes you need professional cleaning.
Sometimes you need a mycology test.
Sometimes you need nail protection and time.
Sometimes the problem is not fungal at all.
See a specialist, get the nail assessed properly and choose the right plan for your case.
Because healthy nail care starts with the right diagnosis.
