After retiring from the police in 2012 I have had several jobs including insurance clerk, pharmacy delivery driver and a support worker for a large home, for people with mental health and addiction.
Having now worked at Oaklands for just over 2 years I seem to get everywhere around the building, attempting to bring a smile
to all the staff, within the hospital as well as our patients. That may be in the car park or along the corridors.
A positive smiling porter seems to put many a patient at ease,
and shows the caring nature within the hospital, giving our patients a more positive and inclusive experience.
