Kelly Boswell, Play Therapist

Kelly Boswell, Play Therapist My play therapy service supports children in a safe, calm environment. Play is essential for development, it’s a way for children to express themselves.

Offering one to one support where a child can explore their feelings, worries or difficulties, with my experience to guide them to a happier outcome. Play Therapy supports children who may be experiencing difficulties at school, finding it hard to make friends, displaying inappropriate behaviours or are withdrawn. Maybe a child has suffered a trauma, or is struggling because of changes in the fami

ly or home. Are they being challenged because of a phobia, anxiety, stress or Covid-19? Play therapy can support trauma resolution, a decrease in aggression, empathy, self-efficacy, coping skills, social integration, development in social skills, and support their growth and development. I have worked with children and families since 2007, firstly as a childminder and then as a therapist, and I am a mum of two children. I have always believed that children are trying to tell us something with their actions and behaviours and so had to learn more about why that is and what I can do to support them. I have completed an NVQ L3 in Childcare, Learning and Development, Post Graduate Certificate in Therapeutic Play Skills, Post Graduate Diploma in Play Therapy, L2 Safeguarding and Paediatric First Aid.
