The home was designed around a beautiful Georgian house and grounds, and has recently been renovated. Residents can enjoy an array of luxury facilities includ

ing newly refreshed and stylish lounges, a cafΓ© and hair and beauty salon. The team of fully qualified nurses and experienced care colleagues oversee the health and wellbeing of each resident with care and support available 24 hours a day. Everything they do focuses on enabling the fullest possible life for residents.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§ Veterans' Club – Tuesday 23rd June, 2.30pm–4.00pm at Salisbury Manor Care Home πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§

This month's Veterans' Club will be a particularly special one for me, as it will be my last before I move on to a new role closer to home in Dorset.

Looking back, I am incredibly proud of what we have achieved together. What started as an idea to bring veterans together has grown into a thriving community, creating opportunities for friendship, camaraderie, reminiscence, and support for both our residents and veterans from the local area.

None of this would have been possible without the commitment, enthusiasm, and generosity of our local Armed Forces community. Through your support, Salisbury Manor has strengthened its Veteran Friendly Framework credentials and, more importantly, provided a welcoming space where veterans can share stories, memories, and experiences with others who truly understand.

The connections formed through this club have made a real difference to so many people, including some who are sadly no longer with us but whose stories and friendships remain very much part of our Veterans' Club family. πŸ™

Whilst I may be moving on, I am delighted to say that the Veterans' Club will continue every month at Salisbury Manor, and I know it will go from strength to strength. I would love to see as many of you as possible at this next gathering and hope you will continue to support the club in the months and years ahead.

Lavender has been cherished for thousands of years, dating back to Ancient Egypt, Greece and Rome, where it was used for relaxation, bathing and wellbeing. Its name comes from the Latin word lavare, meaning "to wash".

Today, lavender remains one of the most popular natural fragrances and is widely recognised for its calming properties. The soothing scent may help to promote relaxation, reduce feelings of stress and anxiety, and support a restful night's sleep.

Our residents took time to relax, reminisce and engage their senses through its beautiful fragrance.

🐝🌼 World Bee Day at Care UK Salisbury Manor 🌼🐝

To celebrate World Bee Day, we were delighted to welcome children from Chafyn Grove School for a fascinating and educational session all about bees.

Residents and children alike enjoyed learning more about these incredible pollinators, watching the bees safely behind glass and discovering the vital role they play in our environment.

At Salisbury Manor, so much of what we do is centred around care, connection and conversation, and this session was a wonderful example of all three in action. It was lovely to see different generations coming together, sharing curiosity, exchanging knowledge and learning from one another.

The session sparked plenty of questions and provided a real insight into the remarkable world of bees, leaving everyone with a greater appreciation for these important creatures.

A big thank you to everyone involved in making the day so informative and enjoyable. πŸπŸ’›

πŸ’› The importance of compassionate care πŸ’›

Compassionate care is not only about meeting someone’s physical needs it is about how we make people feel.

It’s taking the time to listen. Offering reassurance during uncertain moments. Understanding personal routines, preferences and life stories. It’s kindness, patience and dignity shown in everyday interactions.

For older adults, especially those living with dementia or complex care needs, compassionate care can provide comfort, reduce anxiety and help people feel safe, valued and respected. It also offers reassurance to families, knowing their loved one is being cared for with warmth and understanding.

As Maya Angelou so beautifully said:
"People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel."

Her words are such an important reminder within care. Long after daily tasks are forgotten, people remember kindness, reassurance, patience and the feeling of being truly seen and valued. Often, it is the smallest gestures ~ a warm smile, listening carefully, holding a hand or simply taking time ~ that leave the greatest emotional impact.

At Care UK Salisbury Manor, we believe compassionate care is about creating meaningful human connections and ensuring every resident feels respected, understood and supported every single day.

πŸ§ πŸ’œ Navigating Dementia Conference – Salisbury πŸ’œπŸ§ 

It was a privilege to attend the recent Navigating Dementia Conference and to be part of the Safer and Supportive Salisbury group who helped bring this informative and meaningful event together.

The feedback received so far has been incredibly positive, with many valuable conversations taking place around dementia support, awareness and compassionate care within our communities.

A particular highlight was hearing guest speaker Sir Al Aynsley-Green speak so passionately about the importance of compassionate care, dignity and truly seeing the person behind the diagnosis. His words were both thought-provoking and inspiring.

Events like these are so important in helping to navigate and build understanding, connection and support for those living with dementia and the people around them.
