a new chapter š«
At the end of March, we welcomed our baby daughter into the world. We are completely besotted with her. Weāre doing really well, & finding our feet in this very tender, all-consuming early chapter together.
As some of you may know from previous posts, my journey to motherhood has been long & layered over several years, including navigating endometriosis, surgery, pregnancy loss, & learning to hold hope alongside uncertainty.
So to be here with her now⦠to be a mother, mothering⦠feels incredibly precious. Something I feel deeply grateful for šš½
This experience has deepened in me an even greater compassion & tenderness for those navigating fertility challenges, illness, loss, uncertainty, & the many (often invisible) layers that can sit behind becoming a parent.
+ alongside that, an even deeper respect for women, mothers, & all those in a mothering or parenting role. For the sheer devotion, sacrifice, complexity & privilege this can hold all at once.
I am in awe of all those who came before me. If thatās you⦠just wow šš¼
In many ways, my work over the years has been its own preparation for motherhood. Years spent learning about nervous systems, attachment, embodiment, compassion and co-regulation now taking on an entirely new depth & meaningā¦.
And still, these early weeks have been deeply humbling too. Beautiful & love-filled, yes, but also overwhelming, stretching & completely unlike anything I could have prepared for.
As I step into this slower season, where my focus is (very much) here at home, getting to know this new rhythm of motherhoodā¦
I can already feel this chapter shaping me personally, but also shaping the way I think about my work, the way I want to live, & what I want to put into the world for you, for us, for our daughter, & for the wider world.
So for now, Iāll gently bob in & out of this space to share what feels meaningful, whilst honouring this slower season of life.
+ when the time feels right, Iāll slowly begin returning to 1-1 work, somatic yoga, workshops, courses & retreats again in 2027.
For now though, Iām here, baby in arms, & motherhood is very much my deepest practice right now š¤
