One of the biggest lessons this year has been noticing just how much of my life was being lived somewhere other than here.
Not just in worry about the future or regret about the past, but in fantasy too.
Fantasy can be beautiful. It’s part of how we dream, create and imagine. But I’ve realised that when I become attached to those imagined futures, I also end up carrying the sadness when they don’t happen. The greater the fantasy, the greater the disappointment.
Again and again, life has invited me back to something much simpler.
This moment.
Not because the future doesn’t matter, or because we shouldn’t dream, but because this is the only place life is actually happening.
And more often than not, when I really arrive here, I notice something surprising:
In this moment, all my needs are met.
That has become an anchor for me this year.
Maybe it resonates with you too. 🤍
