It's 'Check Your Defib' Week according to the Resuscitation Council UK. If you're the guardian for a defibrillator, whether publicly accessible or your own or kept inside a business premises, please spend 5 minutes checking:

a) Your defib is registered on The Circuit, so others can be directed to it in an emergency (thecircuit.uk for more info);

b) Your pads are in date - there is a national shortage of some brands of pads so please order replacements in good time, and follow The Circuit's guidance on leaving existing pads in situ if they are out of date and you can't get hold of replacements

c) The battery on your defibrillator is at full strength - this is usually just a visual check. Batteries last around 4-5 years but may run out of juice quicker if they are used!

🌀🌀UK SMALL BUSINESS WEEK 2026 - SPECIAL OFFER🌀🌀

⛑️We all know first aid skills are important - potentially even life-saving - but an ever-present problem is skill fade. Qualifications last for 3 years, but if you're not using the skills and knowledge regularly it's all too easy to forget them when it comes to the crunch. 🚑

PUBLIC ACCESS TRAUMA (PAcT) KITS IN SALISBURY

Thanks to generous funding from Salisbury Rotary Club (thank you!), we've been able to spearhead a project to install 4 PAcT kits in public areas in Salisbury - now all we need is to empower the public to be able to use them!

The new kits are in place next to defibrillators at:
📍Salisbury Playhouse (by the stage door)
📍Outside The Chapel nightclub on Milford Street
📍Salisbury Arts Centre (by the stage door)
📍Gainsborough Close (Wiltshire Council Estate Office)

They are ALL outside and can be accessed 24/7.
🚨999 have been made aware of their locations and can direct callers to retrieve and use them.

Thank to Wendy for this recent review after attending a Saturday blended Paediatric First Aid course. We run these regularly to enable childcarers to attend on days that don't impact their working week as pulling them out of ratio in a childcare setting can be difficult to manage.

It was Wendy's 4th time attending a Paediatric First Aid course with us - that makes her a definite loyal customer!
