🕊️ It is with great sadness that we learn of the passing of Dolly Parton, aged 80.

A much-loved singer, songwriter, actress and philanthropist, Dolly brought music, warmth and happiness into homes across the world for more than six decades. With her unmistakable Tennessee charm, trademark blonde hair, rhinestones and wonderful sense of humour, she became one of the most recognisable and cherished figures in the history of entertainment.

From Jolene and 9 to 5 to the unforgettable I Will Always Love You, Dolly’s extraordinary songs became the soundtrack to millions of lives and united generations. Her incredible talent took a girl from humble beginnings in the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee and made her one of the greatest country music stars the world has ever known.

But Dolly was so much more than her music.

Behind the rhinestones and larger-than-life personality was a woman with an enormous heart. Through her philanthropy and her beloved Imagination Library, she helped put books into the hands of millions of children around the world, giving countless youngsters the opportunity to discover the joy of reading.

Her kindness, generosity, humility and wonderful humour made people love the woman behind the music just as much as they loved the songs.

Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with Dolly’s family, friends, loved ones, fellow musicians and the millions of people around the world whose lives she touched through her music, kindness and genuine warmth.

Country music has lost one of its greatest ever stars. Her unmistakable voice may have fallen silent, but the songs she gave the world will continue to play for generations to come.

Some people become famous. Some become stars. But a very special few become legends.

Dolly Parton was most certainly one of them.

☀️ Please Stay Safe This Weekend 🌊

As the weekend begins and we enjoy this beautiful hot weather, we’d just like to remind everyone to take a little extra care while out and about.

If you’re heading to the beach, spending time by the river, or thinking about swimming in a lake or open water, please stay safe. Conditions can change quickly, the water can be much colder than expected, and even strong swimmers can find themselves in difficulty.

💧 Keep hydrated and protect yourself from the sun.

🌊 Take extra care around the sea and open water.

👧 Keep a close eye on children near water.

🐾 Remember our four-legged friends can struggle in the heat too.

❤️ Look out for one another.

🕊️ We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Jimmy Cricket, aged 80.

A much-loved comedian and entertainer, Jimmy brought laughter, warmth and happiness into homes across Britain for more than five decades. With his unmistakable Northern Irish charm, trademark Wellington boots worn on the wrong feet and his famous catchphrase, “And there’s more,” he became one of the most recognisable and cherished faces of British entertainment.

From his own television series to countless appearances on stage, television and radio, Jimmy’s wonderfully gentle, family-friendly humour united generations. At a time when the world often needed a reason to smile, Jimmy gave us one.

Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with his beloved wife, May, his children, grandchildren, wider family, friends, and the millions of people whose lives he touched through laughter, kindness and genuine warmth.

Comedy has lost one of its true gentlemen. His jokes may have fallen silent, but the smiles he created will live on forever. Legends like Jimmy Cricket are never truly gone, they simply leave behind a lifetime of laughter and memories that will never be forgotten.

A true British icon, Bill brought joy, laughter and a lifelong passion for nature into the hearts of millions. From his unforgettable comedy with The Goodies to inspiring generations through programmes such as Springwatch, Birding with Bill Oddie and Bill Oddie Goes Wild, his enthusiasm for wildlife and conservation helped so many people appreciate and protect the natural world.

Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with Bill’s wife, Laura, his daughters, family, friends, and the countless people whose lives he touched through his humour, kindness and dedication to Britain’s wildlife. His legacy will continue to inspire generations to come.
