A massive thanks to Martin McClelland

I genuinely don't know where to start with this one.
First off, this aint my usual chat gpt post, this is from the heart.

Martin has supported Man Cave Monday from day 1.
No... day minus 1

When I told him the idea he told me to go for it and he's been there ever since.

In fact, hes been there more than I have.

On the days I cant make it, he shows up.

On the days he didn't feel like it, he shows up.

On the days when he has his own s**t going on, he still shows up.

Week after week he shows up, he gives up his own time, he gets involved, he helps out, he listens when an ear is needed and the rest of the time he's talking the ears off anyone that will listen.

Anyone that knows him, knows exactly what I mean 😂😂

He doesn't do this for praise, money, recognition, clout, he does it because he cares.

Behind that bold character and boisterous personality he's got the biggest heart going.

Earlier this year he took on Goatfell and raised hundreds in support of Serenity Soul in the process.

A few months ago he decided he wanted to do something for the kids, and teach them a life skill in fishing.

Off his own back, he decided to invite kids amd parents down last weekend, free of charge to join him at the harbour and teach them the basics and over two days, close to 100 kids turned up and had an amazing time.

Over that weekend, some parents donated a few quid and Martin turned up today to hand over £92.46 to Serenity Soul Wellness Hub

Instead of taking that money to reimburse some of his own money that he put into it, he wants the money he raised to go into the hub.

That's not just £92.46
That's someone who consistently and selflessly shows up to give his time, energy and compassion to others and use it to support what we're trying to build.

Martin, I'm immensely proud to have you as part of Man Cave and I'm even more proud to call you a friend.

You've been there from the beginning, you've believed in what we're doing. You've climbed mountains for it - literally! and you continue to put your hand on your pocket, take time away from your Mrs and kids, giving up Mondays, weekends, days off, all to help others. People like you are what makes Man Cave and Serenity Soul exactly what it is.

The hub isn't built by one person, it's built by everyone who cares enough to keep showing up.

And mate, you just keep showing up.
Every.
Single.
Time.

From myself (Kev), to you, everyone at Man Cave and everyone that benefits from what we're doing at the hub.

Thank you.

For the money raised at the weekend.
For the money raised from Goatfell.
For every Monday night.
For every hour of your time and everything else you do that nobody else sees.

You are an absolute legend ❤️

Now if you've read this, please leave a comment and show Martin how much we appreciate him.

🎱 MAN CAVE MONDAY – SOMETHING A LITTLE DIFFERENT TONIGHT! 🎱

This week we’ve been kindly invited along to the exclusive Cue Lounge for a couple of hours of pool, laughs and good company.

We’ll be meeting as usual at Serenity Soul from 6:30pm, then heading along to the Cue Lounge around 7pm. 🎱

A massive thank you to the guys at The Cue Lounge for opening their doors to us and supporting what Man Cave is all about. 👊

And, as always, a huge thank you to Viking Café for their continued support and for continuing to look after the guys week after week. ❤️

Man Cave has never just been about where we meet or what we’re doing. It’s about getting men out the house, getting them together and giving them somewhere they can switch off, have a laugh and talk if they need to.

You might be absolutely fine tonight — but the guy standing beside you might not be.

No pressure. No judgement. Just men looking out for men.
🎱

See you tonight lads

I want to take a minute to give some very well-deserved recognition to two men who I am immensely proud of — Tam McCann and Martin McClelland

Over the last few weeks, Tam has taken the Momentum.official pilot programme and absolutely smashed it out the park.

What started as an idea became something real because of his commitment, consistency and the effort he put into the people taking part. Seeing the success of the pilot and what people have taken from it has been incredible.

Tam, you should be seriously proud of what you've built and achieved. I know I am.

And then this weekend, watching Martin put so much time and effort into Teaching Kids to Fish was another one of those moments that reminds me what all of this is supposed to be about.

It wasn't just teaching kids how to cast a line or catch a fish. It was giving them an experience, sharing knowledge, creating memories and giving up his own time to make sure they had a brilliant day.

Neither of these men did what they did for praise or recognition. They did it because they genuinely wanted to make a difference.

And that's exactly why they deserve the recognition.

One of the things I'm most proud of isn't anything I've personally achieved — it's watching other people step forward, take an idea and turn it into something special.

Tam. Martin. Thank you.

I'm immensely proud of both of you and everything you've achieved. ❤️

This is what community is supposed to look like.
