We have 4 spaces left for our Summer Solstice Celebration on Saturday night. This is always a lovely experience, created around the themes of light, growth, release and intention. We begin with cacao and grounding before moving into reflection and a simple fire ritual to let go of what feels complete and make space for what you’re ready to welcome in.

You’ll also create your own 10ml aromatherapy roller blend or room spray to take home, before settling into a guided visualisation and sound bath to close the evening.

Need a few minutes to breathe?

This is a short guided visualisation you can come back to whenever your head feels full, your body feels tense, or you just need a pause in your day. It’s a small taste of the kind of calming, guided practices I share at Honeybee Cottage through meditation, visualisation and sound bath sessions.

Save this post for when you need it — and take a few minutes for yourself.

Meditation friends… I’d love your thoughts 💛

I’m thinking about starting an online guided meditation class, for people who would love to come along but aren’t always able to attend in person.

This would be different from our sound baths, as sound doesn’t transfer well online — so it would be purely guided meditation/visualisation, something you could join from the comfort of your own home, cosy chair or bed.

I know lots of people would like to attend more regularly but can’t always make it into Honeybee Cottage because of work, family, travel, health, energy levels or just life being life. I’m wondering if an online option might help.

If this is something you’d be interested in, could you please leave a heart ❤️

I promise I’m not going to hound you into coming along — it’s just to help me gauge interest.

I’d also really appreciate a wee comment telling me what sort of time would suit you best. I’m considering an evening slot, possibly around 8.15pm as a wind-down before bedtime, but I’d love to know what would actually work for you.

Thank you — your feedback really helps me shape this in a way that’s useful.

There are still a few spaces left for this Sunday’s Empowerment Workshop, and I’d love this to reach the people who need it.

This workshop is for you if you’ve been feeling the pull towards something more, but self-doubt keeps getting in the way.

Maybe you know what you want, but you keep talking yourself out of it.

Maybe you’re waiting to feel more confident before you begin.

Maybe you’ve spent so long surviving, supporting everyone else, or keeping yourself small that you’ve forgotten what it feels like to move forward with clarity and belief in yourself.

This session is designed to help you reconnect with your confidence, inner strength and sense of direction.

We’ll use guided visualisation, journalling and anchoring techniques to explore what empowerment means for you, what you’re ready to step into, and how to create a personal anchor you can return to when you need courage, focus or reassurance.

You’ll also receive a follow-up booklet and visualisation recording to take away, so you can continue the work at home.

Empowerment Workshop
Sunday 14th June

I want to introduce you to two women.

Margaret Cooper and Catherine Montgomerie.

Both were from Saltcoats.

In 1650, they were apprehended, tried as witches, and likely put to death.

They were two of the many women in North Ayrshire who were forced through the same ordeal. Between 1649 and 1683, records show that eighty-five women and six men from North Ayrshire were accused of witchcraft, arrested and tried.

The accusations against Margaret and Catherine came from the fear and religious language of the time. They were accused of renouncing their baptism, taking new names, and having intimate dealings with the devil.

The proof recorded against them was “common bruit”.

Public rumour.

Margaret and Catherine lived in a busy and growing coastal community. Saltcoats was a place of industry and trade, with a population of only a few thousand people, where daily life was closely observed and reputation could carry enormous weight. In a town of that size, rumours could spread quickly and become difficult to escape.

Their lives were reduced in the records to accusation, confession and punishment.

Their names remain.

Margaret Cooper.
Catherine Montgomerie.
Saltcoats, 1650.
