Bernie is Retiring!
It has finally come to that time to celebrate Bernie’s extraordinary career!
After an incredible 41 years in physiotherapy, the time has come to celebrate the amazing Bernadette, who has dedicated her career to improving the lives of countless people across Cheshire. Throughout four decades of service, Bernie has been so much more than an exceptional physiotherapist. She has provided a trusted ear to listen, a reassuring presence during difficult times, a problem solver, an advisor, a mentor, a colleague, a friend, and above all, an inspiring person who has touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to have met her.
From the early years of dedicated service within the NHS, to supporting the junior and pro-players at Crewe Alexandra Football Club, her expertise and compassion earned the respect of patients, athletes and fellow healthcare professionals alike.
However, after 10 years it was time to move on and twenty-four years ago, Bernie took a leap of faith and built a business that has flourished into something truly special. From the room at the leisure centre, to the little clinic on the Congleton Road and then on to Abbey Road with expansion to Middlewich, it became far more than a successful physiotherapy practice—it became a place where patients received outstanding care and a workplace where people genuinely enjoy being part of. Bernie’s compassion, humour, wisdom and genuine care for others have given colleagues (old and new) self-belief and opportunity. Countless careers have started at the clinic and been developed and shaped beyond, with some returning after many years, feeling just like you are coming home. Not to mention an entire generation of physiotherapists that Bernie has also mentored and inspired along the way. The teaching, advice and values instilled will definitely continue to influence our 15 strong physio team for many years to come.
We are sure you will all agree that the community of Sandbach and across Cheshire have benefited immeasurably from her kindness, professionalism and dedication. Bernie has treated thousands of patients and with her thumbs of steel she has restored confidence, eased pain, encouraged people to return to the activities they love, and for many, she has been the person who believed in them when they needed it most.
It is impossible to measure the impact of 41 years spent helping others and if we could, we would keep her at the clinic indefinitely, but we only have her until the 20th August! For Bernie it is time to rest her thumbs and enjoy her time travelling, spending time with family and doing all that she loves.
So now is a time of celebration and we would welcome all your messages and comments to congratulate Bernie on an incredible career and a truly well-earned retirement.
