It's the little things β˜•οΈ

I always try to remember the details: where you like to sit, what you like to drink, how you have your tea, the name of that mate you mentioned six sessions ago and how their story had impacted you. 🧠

Because this is where you come to unload, unwind and let it all out.

Not to have to explain yourself over and over again.

I'm here 🀎

Fear vs instinct can feel so similar, they're almost indecipherable.

In therapy, we'll do a deep-dive on where these feelings first originated, to help you start to separate what's trauma and what's healthy discernment.

I use a mix of active listening, gentle challenge, compassion, EMDR and inner child work where appropriate,

as well as being informed by attachment work, awareness of neurodivergence and OCD.

I know that right now, uncertainty feels unbearable.

But together, we can find ways to help you self-regulate in moments of confusion, as well as set boundaries to avoid you staying in grey longer than you truly need to be.

You deserve a life that doesn't feel completely out of your control 🀎

Be honest: are you the kind of person that reads other people's behaviour as a reflection of how they feel about you?

I used to do this alllll the time.

A one-word answer = they must hate me.

No reply = they think I'm annoying.

They seem distracted = I'm too much.

Don't get me wrong, some of these old beliefs can resurface!

I was wired like that for a looong time.

The healing process starts with challenging these beliefs instead of blindly going with them without question.

So next time someone doesn't reply, you come up with alternatives:

β€’ maybe they're busy
β€’ maybe they forgot
β€’ maybe they're having an elongated brain-fog moment like I myself also experience without it meaning anything about anyone else ... 🀯🫨

And, worst case scenario (yea, let's go there)..they *don't* like you???

Well, that is a shame. V unlikely tbf, but then what do we need to focus on if the relationship can't be reciprocated in the way we'd like?

If you're ready to start challenging your ingrained negative thoughts processes to live a more confident, self-assured life, I help clients with exactly this process 🩷

Last week, I asked on my stories what relational safety meant to YOU.

I'll be honest, most of the answers were from fellow therapists πŸ––πŸΌπŸ«‘

As folks who have been through rigorous training to self-reflect and do their own healing work, it's no surprise that the answers felt pretty grounded:

πŸͺ·"some level of consistency, joy & an intuitive feeling of warmth"

πŸͺ· "clarity, emotional depth, able to hold important conversations"

πŸͺ· "feeling safe to share when something hasn't landed well"

πŸͺ· "words matching actions"

πŸͺ· "openness, curiosity, honesty"

Absolutely loved these responses.

It's about what works for us personally, what creates a feeling of safety for us based on our life experiences and nervous systems.

We can't compare ourselves or expect to get on with everyone.

In therapy, we'll figure out what kind of energy you vibe with, starting with the inner circle and working from there.

I know it can feel hard to trust when you've been hurt, but there is a way to connect again 🩷

I see this so often in client work, where the mind desperately searches for certainty because the body hates the feeling of not knowing.

Sound familiar?

I know it too.

For a lot of neurodivergent folk, we hate the feeling of uncertainty.

It makes us anxious, discombobulated, and start to question whether we're being unreasonable or if there is a genuine issue.

Our minds can get so loud, we forget to include other people in the conversation.

And before we know it, we've created an entire scenario based on the negative beliefs we have about ourselves that feels so real we're 100% convinced it's true.

When maybe, just maybe, our bodies were already feeling crappy and our minds searched for an explanation.

Together, we'll start to unpick anxiety from instinct.

Trauma from intuition.

So that instead of self-isolating for "safety", you can start to feel truly genuine and connected in your relationships 🩷

Meant to make and post this ages ago but obviously, I forgot.

Seriously though, are you supposed to just like sit orr?...

Hands up if you can relate to this statement πŸ˜‚πŸ™‹πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

Sometimes we tell ourselves we just like being busy.

But what happens when we can't sit sill, even when we're burnt out, overwhelmed?

Learning *how* to relax is a whole new skill I help clients work on in sessions.

We don't just magically sit and feel calm.

It's about relinquishing judgement, nurturing compassion and finding joy ✨️

Let me know when you're ready 🀎

When you don't feel confident in your neurodivergence, it can be a really uncertain place to be.

Wondering "is this normal?"

"Am I broken?"

I've been there, and I get it.

In therapy, we'll do a deep dive on all those little worries you've felt too ashamed to share.

Helping you normalise your experiences, feel more connected to others and compassionate towards yourself.

You don't have to live constantly questioning who you are 🩷
