It’s a bittersweet post from me today… 😊

As many of you already know, my beautiful twin boys arrived two weeks ago, and we’re all doing really well. πŸ‘ΆπŸ‘Ά

Sadly, today is also my last day at The Briars. I’m saying goodbye so I can spend this precious time at home looking after my boys.

Although I’ve only been at The Briars since the start of the year, it’s been such a privilege to be part of such a wonderful community. Thank you to all of our amazing residents, their families, and my fantastic colleagues for making me feel so welcome and for all the laughter, kindness, and lovely memories. I’ll miss you all. ❀️

I know I’m leaving everyone in the very capable hands of Gina, our new Activities Coordinator, and I wish her every success in the role. 😊

This definitely isn’t goodbye forever though! The boys and I will be popping back to visit, and I can’t wait for everyone to meet them.

Thank you all for everything, and I’ll see you again soon! ❀️

Good morning from all of us! β˜€οΈπŸŒΈ

We started the day with smiles, good company, and a relaxing colouring session. Our residents enjoyed bringing beautiful flower designs to life, sharing conversations and laughter along the way.

Wishing everyone a lovely day filled with sunshine and happiness. 🌼

Yesterday's music session was full of smiles, singing, laughter, and plenty of toe-tapping! πŸŽΆπŸ’•

Here's a little clip from our wartime medley on the ukulele, featuring The White Cliffs of Dover, Run Rabbit Run, and Kiss Me Goodnight, Sergeant-Major. It was wonderful to see so many residents joining in, with these familiar songs bringing back happy memories and sparking conversations.

Music has such a special way of connecting people and creating moments to treasure.

We'd love to hear from our families: Which song always reminds your loved one of happy times? Let us know in the comments. We’re always looking for ideas to include in future music sessions! 🎡❀️

Our residents have been keeping busy with some lovely jigsaw puzzles recently. 🧩

We’ve even been working on a 1000-piece puzzle for the last couple of weeks - and it’s fair to say it’s taking us quite some time!

Jigsaws are a wonderful activity for our residents, encouraging focus, conversation, teamwork and a real sense of achievement when the pieces start coming together.

If anyone has any jigsaws they no longer need and would be happy to donate, we would be very grateful. Puzzles between 100 and 500 pieces would be ideal for our residents.
Thank you for supporting our home and helping us keep our activities cupboard full.

There's something special about starting a Sunday with us all singing hymns together. 🎢

Here's a little clip of Jerusalem. The video shows a member of our team, but if you listen closely, you'll hear our residents singing beautifully in the background.

While we do share photos and videos of residents who have given consent, recording a whole group singalong while respecting everyone's individual preferences isn't always possible. This lets us share a little of the warmth and joy of our Sunday morning hymns. πŸ’•πŸŽ΅

We'd love to hear from you - Is Jerusalem one of your favourite hymns, or are there any other hymns that brings back happy memories? Let us know in the comments!

Keeping cool indoors on this hot day with plenty of music, singing and smiles. β˜€οΈπŸ•ΆοΈπŸ˜Š

Music has such a special way of bringing people together, sparking memories and filling the room with joy, and today was full of those moments. 🎡

We'd love to hear from our families: What songs do you remember your loved one singing or enjoying over the years? Whether it's a favourite hymn, a wartime classic, a musical tune or a song that always got them dancing, let us know in the comments. We'd love to include some of your suggestions in our next singalong! 🎢

Here’s Mollie enjoying a trip down to the beach! πŸ–οΈπŸŒ΄

The trip brought back happy memories of Sandown for Mollie, making the day even more special.

As we enjoy the hot weather, it’s important to stay cool by drinking plenty of water, wearing light clothing, and spending time in the shade. β˜€οΈπŸ•ΆοΈ

What's your favourite way to keep cool in the summer? 😊

This afternoon was filled with music, smiles, and plenty of singing as residents enjoyed a ukulele singalong. πŸŽΆπŸ’™

*Unchained Melody* was one of the favourites, with lots of voices joining in and memories being shared through music. Moments like these bring people together and create such a warm, happy atmosphere. 🎡
