🌿 A little update from Mrs B’s 🌿

From September, I will have a little availability for new clients and wanted to let people know that I’ll be opening up a small number of spaces.

My work is so much more than simply providing care. It’s about getting to know the person, building trust, being there on the good days and the difficult ones, and giving families the reassurance that their loved one is in kind and caring hands. ❤️

I feel incredibly lucky to do what I do and to have met so many wonderful people and families along the way.

If you, a family member or someone you know is looking for compassionate companionship, personal care, respite or practical support, please feel free to send me a private message.

As always, thank you for recommending Mrs B’s and for supporting my little business. It genuinely means so much. 🥰

Care & support with kindness and dignity. 🌿

I have always had my ‘Self Employed Carers’ insurance with Surewise, giving me confidence while supporting clients with companionship, personal care and medication support.

It’s one more way I ensure peace of mind for the families who place their trust in me. 💚

Are you a sandwich carer without realising it?

If you're looking after an ageing parent while also raising your own children, you're caring for two generations at once. There's a name for it: sandwich caring.

Around 1.4 million people in the UK are doing exactly this, and many wouldn't even call themselves carers. They just see it as looking after family.

It can stretch your time, your finances and your energy in every direction, so it helps to know what support is out there:

→Flexible working rights from day one of employment
→ Up to a week of unpaid carer's leave each year
→ Carer's Allowance and the Universal Credit carer element
→ Respite care, carer's assessments and support from your local council

Whatever your situation looks like, your own wellbeing matters too.

• Online Face Yoga on Wednesday 19th August 2026, 1pm to 1.30pm.
You can also access our wellbeing-based workshop videos anytime, they include tips to improve sleep and reduce stress, and relaxation exercises. And if you need support, our Advisors are always here to help.

💙 A little glimpse into this week’s adventures with Mrs B’s Compassionate Companionship…

This week we’ve enjoyed some wonderful days out together, making the most of the sunshine and each other’s company.

🌳 A gentle stroll followed by an ice cream at Hatfield Forest.
🌸 A relaxing browse and delicious brunch at Harlow Garden Centre.
🦜 A spot of birdwatching (twitching!) and brunch at Castle Gardens.

Every outing is carefully tailored to the individual—encouraging conversation, stimulating memories, promoting independence and, most importantly, bringing joy.

At the same time, these visits provide invaluable respite for unpaid carers, giving them the opportunity to take a well-earned break, run errands or simply enjoy a little time for themselves, knowing their loved one is safe, supported and enjoying their day.

It’s a privilege to be part of so many special moments. ❤️

If you think companionship visits or respite support could benefit someone you love, I’d be happy to have a friendly, no-obligation chat and advice.

💛 A review like this reminds me exactly why I do what I do. 💛

“Because of Deb’s incredible care, Dad and the rest of the family were able to celebrate and enjoy my sister’s wedding completely worry-free, knowing Mum was happy, safe and with someone she trusted.”

I had the privilege of supporting a lovely lady living with vascular dementia throughout her daughter’s wedding day. From helping her get ready, accompanying her during the ceremony and celebrations, finding quiet moments when things became overwhelming, and making sure she was comfortable, hydrated and included, my aim was simple…

❤️ To ensure she could enjoy the day in a way that felt right for her.

Knowing her family could fully relax and make precious memories together is the greatest compliment I could receive.

We enjoyed time visiting the Bishop’s Stortford museum today. Both perfectly accessible and engaging for a gentleman with dementia who can still enjoy getting out and about and has a great interest in history ☺️
