Running for Health: How to Protect Your Joints as You Stay Active
I’ve always believed in staying active, and for many years running was a big part of that.
I tell my kids their dad used to be an 'international' marathon runner since in my 20s I did the London marathon and the following year the Marathon de Médoc in Bordeaux.
I should say that we were hardly athletic as a/ my cousin and I went out with some French guys the night before and b/ the "race" goes through vineyards where rather than lucozade, there is in fact wine, amazing wine actually ...
But as I’ve got older, I’ve found that for me personally, I need to run less.
These days, you’re much more likely to find me on my bike or at a spin class.
And perhaps that’s an important part of staying active as we age, being prepared to adapt.

As ever the message is do what you can, but keep active.
We find it helps to put things on the diary for the week ahead so they become non-negotiable, or at least we have half a chance to comply!
