NHS Shetland Walk-In Clinic to return to Grantfield

NHS Shetland is pleased to advise patients that, following completion of improvement works, the Walk-In Clinic will return to Grantfield from Tuesday 22 September.

The works at Grantfield have included the addition of a new toilet, an extra clinic room and a number of other improvements designed to enhance the experience for patients using the service.

Before the move back to Grantfield, the clinic will continue to operate from its temporary location at Outpatients at the Gilbert Bain Hospital with the following opening times:

• Friday 18 September: 5pm to 8pm (please do not arrive before 5pm)
• Saturday 19 September: 9am to 5pm
• Sunday 20 September: 9am to 5pm
• Monday 21 September: Closed

As the pilot service continues to develop, opening days and times may occasionally vary. Patients are encouraged to check the NHS Shetland website and social media channels for the latest information and service updates.

The Walk-In Clinic at Grantfield will be open from 9am to 5pm on Saturday 25 July and Sunday 26 July. The last slot each day is 4.30pm.

Please note that repeat prescriptions cannot be ordered at the Walk-In Clinic.

Repeat prescriptions should be requested from your usual GP practice during the week. If you have run out of your medication, please speak to your local pharmacy about an emergency supply.

The clinic is available to everyone in Shetland, of all ages, including people who are not registered with a local GP practice. Visitors to Shetland who need healthcare support are also welcome.

There is no need to queue

Reminder - GP practices and community pharmacies opening hours on Monday 13 July

Today, Monday 13 July is a Public Holiday for NHS Shetland.

👉All health centres will be closed.
👉The Walk-In Clinic will be open at Grantfield.
👉All community pharmacies will be open.

If you are ill when your practice is closed and can't wait until it reopens, you should call NHS 24 on 111, if you are registered at a mainland Shetland practice.
If you are registered in Unst, Yell or Whalsay, please call the usual practice phone number for further information.

This service is available to all patients, of all ages, in Shetland, including those not registered with a local GP practice. Visitors to Shetland needing support are also welcome.
