Just sharing this new group set up for women. I know I’m a day late sharing, but I’ve only just become aware of it.
They are running their next one 21 st August

🌸 Tomorrow is the Day! 🌸

We’re so excited to welcome you to the very first Whitby Women’s Wellbeing Group! 💜

If you’ve been thinking about coming along but you’re feeling nervous, please know you’re not alone. Many of us feel anxious walking into something new, but you’ll be met with a warm, friendly and supportive space where you can simply be yourself.

✨ 📅 Tomorrow
🕕 6:00pm – 7:30pm
📍 Eastside Community Centre, Whitby

Come along for a relaxed evening of conversation, connection and support with other local women. There’s no pressure to talk – you can share as much or as little as you feel comfortable with.

Whether you’re looking to make new friends, feel less alone, or just enjoy a welcoming environment, we’d love to see you there. 💕

Remember: You don’t have to go through things on your own. Sometimes the first step through the door is the hardest, but it could be the beginning of something really positive.

We can’t wait to meet you all tomorrow! 🌷💜

Understanding Stress 🤯: The Double-Edged Sword of Motivation and Harm

Stress can be a powerful motivator in small doses, pushing us to meet deadlines, prepare for exams, and strive for excellence. However, when we're exposed to it for an extended period, it can have devastating effects on our physical and emotional well-being, relationships, and overall quality of life. 🌪️ Chronic stress can lead to anxiety, depression, and a weakened immune system, making us more susceptible to illnesses. It can also cause us to become irritable, withdrawn, and isolated, straining our relationships with loved ones and colleagues.

So, how can we break free from the grip of stress? Identify your triggers and develop healthy coping strategies to manage stress. 💡 Reflect on your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors to understand what sets you off. Is it work-related pressure, financial worries, or personal relationships? Once you're aware of your triggers, you can develop a plan to tackle them head-on. Prioritize self-care, stay active, challenge negative thoughts, and seek support from friends, family, or a professional counsellor. 🤝

Counselling can be a game-changer in helping you regain balance and develop healthier responses to stress. 🌈 A trained therapist can provide you with a safe and non-judgmental space to explore your feelings, identify patterns, and develop coping strategies. With the right tools and support, you can learn to manage stress effectively, improve your mental health, and enhance your overall well-being.

Just sharing my blog on stress.
Animal assisted therapy is great for stress and other issues.
Stroking a pet releases feel good hormones for you and your pet. Research suggests spending time with and stroking a cat or dog can aid relaxation by lowering your heart rate and blood pressure, and alleviating stress.

Please look at my Animal Assisted Therapy page for more information. Sessions are available for adolescents 11+ and adults at my Scarborough therapy room.

Stress is the body's natural response to pressure, demands, challenges, or change. It is a normal part of life and, in small amounts, can help motivate us to
