Week 8 of rehabilitation looked a little different… ☀️✈️🎶

Last week consisted of:
🌴 A holiday abroad
☀️ Plenty of sunbathing
🏛️ A bit of sightseeing
🍕 Eating far too much food
🎸 And seeing my all-time favourite band, for the 8th time!

Did I completely forget about rehab? Absolutely not.

I managed to get two rehab sessions done in the hotel gym, and you know what… that’s better than nothing. 💪

Sometimes it’s easy to feel guilty for not sticking to the “perfect” rehab routine, but recovery is about more than just exercises. It’s about finding the right balance.

Rest is important.
Family time is important.
Switching off mentally is important.
And yes… continuing your rehab where you can is important too.

Recovery doesn’t have to consume every minute of your life. Taking time to recharge, make memories and enjoy yourself can be just as valuable as ticking every rehab box.

Now it’s back home, back to work, refreshed, recharged and ready to get stuck back into the next phase of rehab. One step at a time. 🙌

Week 7 Post Op 💪🏼

This week has been a big milestone… I’m finally back to work full-time after nearly 7 weeks off. 🙌🏼

As good as it feels to be back doing what I love, it also brings a new challenge… finding the time to keep on top of my own rehab. Between being back in clinic at , returning to full-time at Hull City, doing pre-season testing, admin, and everything else that comes with the job, it’s definitely been harder to stay consistent. 🙈

I’m having to grab any opportunity I can – squeezing in 10 minutes here and there between appointments, meetings, and testing sessions. It might not be the long rehab sessions I was able to do while I was off, but every little bit counts. And I’ve not been able to do my usual rehab videos unfortunately!

Still slowly progressing day by day, but still not to where I want to be, recovery is hard work. Just trying to increase my steps and strength and capacity slowly but surely.

One thing this injury has taught me is that rehabilitation doesn’t stop just because life gets busy. In fact, that’s often when it’s most important. Consistency isn’t about having the perfect hour-long session every day; sometimes it’s about making the most of the small windows you have and showing up anyway.

It’s not easy balancing work, life, and recovery, but if I want to get back to doing what I love without setbacks, I have to make rehab a priority—even on the busiest days.

Slowly but surely… still moving forward. 💙💪🏼
