Hey everyone! Sorry it’s been a little quiet on here over the last few months. Life has been incredibly busy, and I decided to take some time out to focus on myself and my family.
During that time, I was given the most exciting new title of Nanny, and we’ve been blessed with a beautiful grandson 💙 Now I am feeling ready to get back to doing what I love, sharing Reiki and the other therapies I offer with you all, updates to follow
In other exciting news, Anna and I have also been busy working on a collaboration through our little venture, PLUR Apparel North
Over the next few weeks, we’ll be sharing our ideas, new designs, and details of the upcoming craft fairs we’ll be attending. We can’t wait to show you what we’ve been working on and hope to see some of you there

PLUR grew out of our love for underground rave culture. I was inspired by the 90s warehouse and illegal rave scene, while Anna found her inspiration in the free party scene. We wanted to create clothing that combines Anna’s skills in designing and making garments with my passion for crochet. Inspired by the DIY spirit, freedom, and sense of community that defined those scenes, every piece is made to celebrate individuality and self-expression.

Life has been so hectic of late and I have being burning the candle at both ends. So on Sunday myself and Anna Spent some time in nature and went to Falling Foss near Whitby. I listened to what my body needs and now I am taking a few days off to rest and recuperate.

So I want to share with you the benefits of spending time in nature.
1. Reduced stress and anxiety
Being in natural environments lowers cortisol (the stress hormone). Even brief exposure like sitting near trees or water can calm the nervous system and reduce symptoms of anxiety.

2. Improved mood
Nature is linked to increased feelings of happiness and wellbeing. Sunlight, fresh air, and natural scenery all contribute to boosting mood and reducing negative thinking.

3. Better focus and attention
Time outdoors helps restore attention, especially if you feel mentally fatigued.

4. Lower risk of depression
Regular exposure to green spaces is associated with fewer symptoms of depression.

5. Enhanced mindfulness and presence
Nature naturally encourages you to slow down and notice your surroundings—sounds, textures, and smells—which supports mindfulness and reduces rumination.

6. Better sleep
Exposure to natural light helps regulate your circadian rhythm, improving sleep quality

7. Increased creativity and mental clarity
Stepping away from screens and into nature can improve problem-solving skills and spark creative thinking.

How it works

20-30 minutes a day is all you need, if you do not have access to travel to places of nature going to your local park or just stepping outside can be very beneficial. For me even 10 minutes standing bare footed on grass boosts my MH 100%.

On Sunday 8th March, just before sunset the positive posse which is myself, Charlotte Christine and Dionne🌟 — joined by the amazing Scarborough Girls Club 💛 — will be taking a cold‑water dip at North Bay Beach to raise money for Refuge.

International Women’s Day is about strength, solidarity, and celebrating what women can achieve together. So we’re gathering at the beach to do something bold and beautiful: stepping into the icy North Sea ❄️🌊 as a show of support for women and children escaping domestic abuse.

Refuge provides life‑saving services: safe accommodation, specialist support, and a vital lifeline for those in crisis. Their work changes lives, and every donation helps someone take their first step toward safety 💙.

As the sun goes down, we’ll share warm drinks ☕, snacks 🥨, a fire to gather around 🔥, and a moment of guided meditation to ground ourselves in community and purpose. It’s more than a dip — it’s a space for connection, courage, and conversation.

Everyone is welcome. Whether you want to dip, cheer, chat, or simply stand in solidarity, your presence strengthens the message that women deserve safety, support, and the chance to thrive 🌍✨.

Join us at North Bay Beach, near the huts, from 4:30pm, with the dip taking place around sunset, just before 6pm. If you can’t be there in person, you can still support by donating or sharing our page. Together, we’re making waves — one cold dip at a time 🌊🧜‍♀️
