🌼 Indian Week Continues at Sycamore Lodge! 🌼

Our residents have been enjoying another vibrant day filled with flavours, colours and cosy moments inspired by India.

On today’s menu we served freshly made wafafs — our soft, warm Indian‑style flatbreads — paired with homemade chutneys full of sweet and spicy notes. The drinks trolley looked just as cheerful, with layered fruit coolers bringing a splash of sunshine to the room.

Across the lounge, residents tucked into their treats while relaxing with word‑search books, warm drinks and friendly chats. These quiet moments of comfort are what make themed days so special — a blend of new tastes and familiar smiles.

🌟🇮🇳 India‑themed afternoon at Sycamore Lodge 🇮🇳🌟

Today our residents enjoyed another wonderful India‑themed day filled with colour, flavour and lots of happy moments. The highlight was a samosa tasting session — warm, crispy samosas served with fresh cucumber, cherry tomatoes and onion rings, plus a trio of tasty dips that everyone loved. Residents chatted, compared flavours and enjoyed the hands‑on experience of trying something new.

We also added a special Sycamore touch: cherry treats made from fruit picked straight from our own garden. The residents were delighted to taste something homemade and homegrown — a sweet finish to a vibrant afternoon.

Moments like these bring culture, joy and togetherness into our home, and today’s activity was full of smiles from start to finish 💛✨

🥭✨ Mango Lassi to Open Our Indian‑Themed Weekend at Sycamore Lodge

To begin our vibrant Indian‑themed weekend, our residents enjoyed a beautifully refreshing Mango Lassi — a traditional Indian drink made with sweet mango, creamy yoghurt and a hint of cardamom.

It was the perfect way to introduce the colours, flavours and warmth of Indian culture. Residents loved the smooth, fruity taste, and the activity sparked lovely conversations about travel, spices and favourite foods.

A simple drink, full of sunshine, marking the start of a weekend filled with culture, creativity and togetherness at Sycamore Lodge.

💛 Wishing Sue the Happiest Retirement 💛

This afternoon our Rathside family said “see you later” to the amazing OG Sue as she begins her well‑earned retirement. After many years of loyal service, dedication and heart, Sue has decided to hang up her tunic and start a brand‑new chapter.

Although Sue has been a huge part of Rathside, we at Sycamore Lodge also want to send our warmest wishes. Sue’s kindness, loyalty and commitment have touched staff, residents and families across our sister homes, and she will be truly missed. 💕

Sue — we hope your retirement brings you joy, adventures and plenty of time to enjoy the things you love. And we hope you’ll still pop in to see us from time to time.

Billie‑Jo and Mandy sitting down to play dominos with one of our residents is possibly the most humble and heart‑warming thing I’ve seen in a long time.
Simple moments… real connection… and the kind of care that goes far beyond duty.
These are the moments that make our home feel like family.
