Simon and his incredible team looked after my mum once she was in their care and supported me and my family through the funeral preparations and took care of us throughout the service and the internment.

🪖 “Ordinary men called upon to do extraordinary things”

On 6 June 1944, thousands of young men stepped onto the beaches of Normandy knowing the risks that lay ahead.

They came from different backgrounds, different towns, and different walks of life. Many were not professional soldiers. They were sons, brothers, husbands, fathers and friends who answered the call when it mattered most.

Their courage, sacrifice and determination helped change the course of history and secure the freedoms that many of us enjoy today.

As we mark D-Day, we remember those who served, those who never returned, and the extraordinary bravery shown by an ordinary generation.

From all of us at Ashby Funeral Care, we will remember them.
