The Golden Stars Awards may be over, but the stories behind our stars deserve to be shared.

Congratulations to the Breast Mammographic Surveillance Team, winners of the Excellence in Improvement & Innovation Award.

When a national screening system was withdrawn, the team rapidly developed a new surveillance pathway protecting care for approximately 4,450 patients annually, ensuring services continued safely without disruption.

Thank you to Fisher Security - Hull for sponsoring this award.

On 10 July, we came together to recognise the incredible individuals and teams making a difference across NHS Humber Health Partnership.

The Goole Acute Therapy Team has transformed the elective orthopaedic pathway, reducing average lengths of stay from 3.3 days to just 1.3 days while improving patient outcomes and supporting more same-day discharges.

Thank you to Dedalus for sponsoring this award.

💙 A major step forward in COPD care in East Yorkshire 💙

A woman in her 60s from has become the first person in to benefit from a new biologic treatment for , designed to help prevent frequent flare-ups and hospital admissions. 🫁✨

The Respiratory Clinical Assessment Service at NHS Humber Health Partnership is one of the first NHS organisations in the country to offer this innovative treatment to selected people living with COPD.

And the impact is already life-changing. ❤️

The patient, who wishes to remain anonymous, told our nursing team that since receiving the injection she is now able to:

🚶‍♀️ Walk further
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Attend family events
💬 Have proper conversations rather than speaking in clipped sentences because of breathlessness

We’ve launched a new lottery scheme, giving supporters the chance to win cash prizes while helping raise vital funds for patients and families

The BIG Lotto for Health Charities is a new shared lottery that brings NHS charities together under one umbrella, helping them raise more money while keeping costs low. For every £1 entry, 60p goes directly to the supporter’s chosen charity, with any additional donations also benefiting that cause.

By taking part, players will be entered into weekly draws featuring a top prize of £1,000, a second prize of £100, 270 £5 prizes and a rollover jackpot of up to £10,000.

Funds raised through the lottery will support our work to enhance care and experiences across local hospitals, funding projects that go beyond what NHS budgets can provide. This includes improving hospital environments, supporting staff wellbeing and investing in equipment and services that benefit patients and their families.

The scheme is fully managed, with licensing, compliance, payments and player support handled centrally, allowing the charity to focus on maximising the impact of the money raised.

Every ticket purchased will help us continue funding projects that make a real difference across our hospitals and communities.
