Everyone had a wonderful afternoon yesterday with Andy, also known as Jazz the Poet, creating a poem together inspired by treasured memories from the past. Andy spent time getting to know everyone, encouraging conversation and reminiscing. It soon became clear that everyone shared one special memory – spending time with friends on Brighton Pier.

There were so many wonderful stories and memories shared that it was difficult to fit them all into one poem, but together we created a piece that truly reflects everyone's experiences and friendships.

The finished poem was loved by everyone and is something we will all treasure for years to come.

Congratulations to Clive, the winner of this year's World Cup Sweepstake!

Spain were crowned champions after a 1–0 victory over Argentina in the final.

🌎 **Around the World in One Day: A Spanish Adventure! 🇪🇸**

Today our care home packed our imaginary suitcases and set off on an exciting journey around the world, stopping in the beautiful country of **Spain**!

Our residents enjoyed a wonderful taste of Spanish culture as we transformed mealtime into a vibrant Spanish celebration. For lunch, we enjoyed a delicious homemade feast featuring a traditional **seafood paella**, filled with wonderful flavours and inspired by the sunny coastlines of Spain. We also tucked into a classic **Spanish omelette (tortilla española)**, lovingly prepared with care and bringing the true taste of Spain to our dining tables.

To finish our Spanish adventure, we indulged in a sweet treat of freshly made **churros served with a rich chocolate sauce** — the perfect ending to a fantastic culinary journey!

Every dish was **homemade with love**, bringing everyone together to enjoy new flavours, share memories, and experience the joy of travelling through food. Our residents had a fantastic time exploring Spain without ever leaving home — proving that the world is full of wonderful places to discover, one bite at a time! ✈️❤️

Join us for an exciting talk about primatology. Primatology is the study of primates and focuses on using human psychology to better understand the minds of primates. We’ll be delving into this fascinating world with guest speaker, Marriane Paisley, from the University of Sussex on Wednesday 12th August at 2pm.

Come along and learn about the importance of conservation, the amazing studies being done through the use of thermal imaging, and hear some truly wild stories from the field!

We hope everyone is enjoying this lovely sunny weather!

Our residents have been making the most of it by enjoying plenty of refreshing cold treats to help keep cool throughout the day.

Staying cool and well hydrated is especially important during hot weather. The general recommendation is to drink around 8 glasses of water each day, but during periods of hot weather this can increase to around 14 glasses to help replace the extra fluids lost through sweating.

We hope everyone stays safe, keeps hydrated, and enjoys the sunshine!

Dementia Singing Experience, Sussex have done it again! What a fantastic afternoon we all had! 🎭🎶

Everyone enjoyed singing and dancing along to songs from classic movies and TV shows through the years. There was plenty of laughter, smiles, and wonderful memories made together.

A huge thank you to Phil for his amazing entertainment and for taking the time to get to know our residents. Your enthusiasm and kindness always make every visit so special.

We can't wait to welcome you back again soon! 😊
