Pregnancy screening tests are offered during pregnancy to help check the health of you and your baby 💙👶

These tests can help identify the chance of certain conditions early on, allowing you to access the right care, support and information throughout your pregnancy 👍

Screening tests offered during pregnancy may include checks for:
• Down’s syndrome, Edwards’ syndrome and Patau’s syndrome
• sickle cell disease and thalassaemia
• infectious diseases such as HIV, hepatitis B and syphilis
• physical conditions identified during ultrasound scans 🩺

You’ll also be offered ultrasound scans during pregnancy, including the dating scan and the 20-week screening scan 👶

It’s important to remember that screening tests are your choice. Your midwife or healthcare team will explain each test, what it looks for and what the results may mean so you can decide what feels right for you 💫

If you have any questions or concerns, speak to your midwife or maternity team for advice and support 💙

Hiring: Registered Nurse - Seaton & Colyton Medical Practice

Hours: Flexible – Full-time or Part-time (we're happy to tailor the role and hours for the right candidate)

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

At Seaton & Colyton Medical Practice, we believe general practice should be rewarding, supportive and continually evolving. We're proud of the care we provide and are looking for a Registered Nurse who shares our commitment to delivering outstanding patient care while embracing opportunities to learn, develop and make a real difference.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a friendly, forward-thinking practice where you'll enjoy a genuinely varied role. From supporting patients with long-term conditions and wound care to contributing to our newly opened Minor Injuries Service, you'll have the chance to broaden your skills while working as part of a close-knit multidisciplinary team.

We're looking for the right person rather than the perfect CV. Whether you already have experience in long-term conditions, diabetes, wound care or minor injuries, or you're keen to develop in these areas, we'll support you to build your skills and confidence.

Applications are welcomed from nurses with experience in general practice, community nursing, district nursing, urgent care, outpatient services or other relevant clinical settings.

About the role

This is a varied and rewarding nursing role where you'll become an integral member of our clinical team, caring for patients across a broad range of services.

Depending on your experience and interests, your role may include:

• Long-term condition management, including diabetes and other chronic diseases
• Wound care and dressings
• Cervical screening (if qualified)
• Immunisations and vaccinations
• Health promotion and preventative care
• Supporting patients with acute and routine nursing needs
• Contributing to our Minor Injuries Service and assisting with unexpected presentations when required
No two days are the same. We're looking for someone who enjoys variety, is adaptable and values working as part of a supportive team where everyone helps each other to provide the very best care for our patients.

About you

You'll be a Registered Nurse with current NMC registration and a genuine passion for patient care.

You'll also be someone who:

• Enjoys working with patients of all ages.
• Is positive, adaptable and embraces new opportunities.
• Has excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Is keen to continue learning and developing professionally.
• Takes pride in delivering safe, compassionate, high-quality care.
• Has experience in areas such as long-term conditions, wound care, diabetes, urgent care or general practice nursing—or is willing to develop these skills with our support.
• Brings enthusiasm, initiative and a practical "can-do" approach to everyday work.
What we offer

• A welcoming, supportive and friendly multidisciplinary team.
• Flexible working—we're more interested in finding the right person than fitting someone into a predetermined number of hours.
• Opportunities for training, mentorship and ongoing professional development.
• A varied and rewarding role with the opportunity to broaden your clinical skills.
• The chance to be part of a practice that is continually developing and improving the services it offers to patients.
• A beautiful East Devon coastal location with a loyal patient population and a team that genuinely enjoys working together.
Interested?

Whether you're an experienced Practice Nurse looking for your next challenge, a Community or District Nurse wanting to move into primary care, an Urgent Care Nurse seeking a better work-life balance, or a Registered Nurse ready to develop new skills, we'd love to hear from you.

If you're not sure whether this role is the right fit, we'd be delighted to have an informal chat, show you around the practice and answer any questions before you apply.

After all, we're more interested in finding the right person than the perfect CV.
